We stopped for a quick late lunch. The place is so simple. The smell of the cooking is very annoying if you’re dining in. The guy who’s taking the orders is the same guy who’s preparing the food. Very nice guy. We ordered Kebab meal with Gyro for two wasn’t bad wasn’t good. We ate because we were hungry. It’s good place for students near by. And good cheap prices. 40$ for two with two sodas.
Black Sea is one of my favorite Hamline Midway restaurants. The food is delicious, very generous portions of meat and vegetables, and reasonably priced. The owner and staff are very friendly and provide good service. Like many of their customers, I have been coming here for over a decade with the full intent to continue regularly eating here.
We ordered takeout from Black Sea for a night in, and we loved every bite of it, many of which lasted well into the next day (and some further than that!) The food was amazing, the servings heaping, the service quick. The chicken gyro meat was some of the best I have ever had, juicy and perfectly seasoned. It's obvious this place has a lot of experience and knows what they are doing. Definitely stop in for some of the best food in the area!
