Great experience- visited after I guess experiencing them first at art o whirl earlier this year.
We were looking for a place that had yucca fries searched on maps and just threw out a place I found for them on the way back home so coincidentally here and now its her favorite restaurant in Minneapolis- she says the rice and beans is darn near like hers.
Just try them out- Minneapolis Saint Paul just made the top food destination in the country this year - gems like these are parts of that spoil .
Thanks for having vegan options!

Comfort food for sure, it's delicious. The fried plantains and yuca are great! However, I came with a larger party, and the service wasn't the best. I can understand the frustration with needed to handle many people at once, but we certainly felt rushed. Someone in my party didn't tip, and the waitress made sarcastic remarks to her when she saw that. That really rubbed me the wrong way since the tipping philosophy is even stated on the website. This isn't the first time we've been here, so I know that experience is atypical. Still, I'm not sure if we'll be back any time soon.

Pickup took 25 minutes after stated time. They forgot my drink and half of the side dips, no response when trying to call. After driving all the way back to get something in return for not giving me what I ordered no compensation was offered.
My absolute favorite place! They have delicious food and friendly staff❤️ Thank you!

I recently visited this restaurant with family and left deeply disappointed by both the service and overall treatment we received.
At first, things seemed fine. However, one member of our party, who has dietary restrictions and follows a vegan diet, wanted to confirm that their meal was fully vegan — a completely reasonable question. The server responded in a short, dismissive tone that immediately felt rude and annoyed.
Later, when checking on the table, my family member mentioned that their dish was overly salty after only taking a few bites. Rather than showing concern or offering a solution, the response felt passive-aggressive and condescending: “Maybe it’s the sauce,” followed by, “Next time mention it when you order and we’ll see what we can do.” Respectfully, if someone is unhappy with a meal they barely touched, basic customer service would be to address the concern rather than dismiss it.
What made the experience worse was visibly watching staff discuss the complaint in the open kitchen area while looking toward our table, shrugging, and making comments. It felt unprofessional, uncomfortable, and frankly disrespectful.
No effort was made to remedy the situation, no accountability was taken, and the overall energy shifted in a way that made our table feel unwelcome.
As a Black/brown customer, the overall experience left me feeling uncomfortable, unwelcome, and disrespected. When you are spending your hard-earned money, you should not have to feel dismissed, watched, or treated with a lack of care when raising reasonable concerns about your meal.
People work hard for their money and deserve to be treated with respect when dining out. Unfortunately, that was not our experience here.

Big-time brasa fan. I’ve been going/eating here since they opened as well as to other locations. Sadly on the recent DoorDash delivery there were two significant pieces of gristle in the chicken with gravy that I’ve not experienced before and it just leaves such a bad feeling in your mouth- gag type thing. Otherwise their food is always solid and wonderful. But I was super disappointed about that.

Brasa, thank you. The food was excellent. The amount of guac on the huevos rancheros made me feel loved. The chicken platter tasted like a choir of angels singing to me, and the green sauce was like an electric guitar riffing over their voices. I will be back.
Food was good, I found the service to be inconsistent.... some tables were given much more attention than others which felt dismissive.

I was very disappointed in my visit today….
Just little things but it may keep me from coming back. I am paying almost $16 for a sandwich and then I ask to have coleslaw on top instead of the topping that come with the sandwich and mind you all their other sandwiches come with coleslaw on top-. I get my bill and they charge me $2 for the topping-that they already put on all the other sandwiches!! It’s not the $$ it’s the principle of the thing. I wxpressed my dissatisfaction to my server-I wasn’t told about the up charge -and she just laughed it off-not cool…

Superb food. Got a roasted chicken with rice, beans and salad. All very tasty. The Green Sause was amazing! I may have to order bucket of the green sauce on its own!

I literally cannot give any recommendations for improvement. The smothered chicken was delicious, beans and rice were great, the green sauce is amazing on everything and the butterscotch pudding was life changing!!!

The food was good and a fair price, the service was abysmal. Our server, Audrey, basically ignored us from the moment we arrived. I hope she realizes that the way she treats people does affect them, and I hope that this experience was an outlier and not the norm. We will not be returning.

I'm feeling kind of heartbroken. My family and I came here after reading positive reviews about the gluten free menu. I had just had a horrible day and they were taking me out to help me feel better. My sister and I have Celiac's disease and don't go out to eat often at all.
Our server was Audrey S. I think she was having a bad night. I really hope this isn't how she usually treats people.
She told us to seat ourselves outside, and so we waited for her to come to our table, of which there were only I think 4 outside? I think it was around 8 minutes before she appeared and we were able to ask for water.
Everywhere I go I smile, say thank you as much as I can, and try my best to be kind. I don't know if she maybe struggles with homophobic views that led her to treating us the way she did, or maybe it was because we are young, or because my husband is disabled, but she all but ignored us throughout the night. It was clear she wanted nothing to do with us. Other servers had to come out to help us throughout the evening. Audrey has the energy of a mean girl from back in school.
I really regret coming here. I tipped 20 dollars on a 14 dollar order, because I used to love tipping when I could afford to go out. My whole family told me not to but I couldn't help but think of what she might've been struggling with within herself. I hope this was just an unfortunate night for her, and not the way she treats all gay men, or young people, or disabled people.
Overall, I'm really disappointed with this restaurant's service. The food was nice and prices were decent, but being served by Audrey absolutely ruined my night.
