Quiet, but decently busy location. On the corner of Grand Ave. No parking lot. Parking is not ideal and sometimes hard to find.
Otherwise decent place, lots of options and friendly staff.
My cashier Will (same name as me!) has always been super nice and speedy whenever I’ve stopped by. They have a great selection and no matter what item you pick, it’s going to be fresh and delicious!
A very special place. Highly recommended.
Offers also kosher products.
The aromas are simply divine.
The special menus are fun, and I love that some buns, rolls, and scones are also sold in mini versions. Their sourdough bread and other staples are consistently great. Sweeter items like babka can be a bit dry sometimes.
Not bad, got some bread to go, banana bread is good and sour dough recommended, pumpkin bread I wasn’t sure if i should buy

Excellent quality fresh breads and baked goods. Great for making sandwiches at home. Plenty of treats both sweet and savory.

So first time visitor here and I asked the young man at the counter what’s vegan. He didn’t know. Luckily the other fellow working was very knowledgeable but had he not been there I would have left empty handed. NOTHING is labeled. You have to ask about all of it. And they don’t have a nutrition menu you can look at. Many of the breads, English muffins and pretzels are vegan. The only vegan dessert is the chocolate babka. I got a pretzel and babka. Both yummy but you have to hope you get a knowledgeable worker if you go here. Updated from previous review on 2024-07-30
Just avoid them. There are so so many great local bakeries in MN this is just a knockoff of them. The bread is incredibly lack luster and feels mass produced. Nothing about this place is authentic and it’s incredibly uninspiring as they have nearly three dozen locations… if you want good bread go down the street to Rose Street Patisserie. They are amazing and their bread and pastries are incredible. To be honest with you the only place Breadsmith is competing with is whole foods. The only semi redeeming factors are
their hours and pricing.. they are open when most bakeries aren’t (for better or worse). The cost is also affordable which is nice but even so I don’t think you get what you pay for.. Customer service is nothing special but not bad. The crumb on their breads is also horrible and is often far too dense. Whatever you do just avoid the “babka.”

I’m surprised to see so many unhappy reviews! The place is small, and parking isn’t super easy, but that’s true of many stores. I don’t expect the place to be a patisserie. It’s consistently good, especially considering the large amount of baked goods they produce every day. I love the wide variety and sizes of the breads. I know what I am going to get when I go there, and I go there as often as I can. (I don’t live in Minnesota.). There were one or two tables outside, which is nice, because usually these stores don’t have seatingBy the way, all of the food is kosher and pareve.

Great bread, wonderful selection. Unfortunately the gentleman who helped us said “you don’t tip” rudely, under his breath when we chose not to tip on our two loafs of bread.

The breads here are a bit on the dry side for me. The service and and atmosphere could use some gentle welcoming.
