I used to go here often for cheap eats while I lived in Highland Park. This place is a gem, the service is nice, the food is consistent not fussy or overdone. This is classic American Chinese in a buffet like we all need in our lives every now and then.

Going to this location since 1977 thru several ownerships. First was the original Willow Gate with Taiwanese entrees. One later ownership didn't do so well. The current (Cleveland Wok) was a much welcomed change & offers a very good buffet. Egg foo yong, egg rolls & spicy dishes especially recommended. Eager for reopening.

Absolutely love Cleveland Wok and have been eagerly awaiting their reopening after a fire last winter. Just heard though that when they do re-open , probably in Jan 2020, they will no longer have their buffet! That was why I went there ... so I could have all their goodies at once -sesame chicken, potstickers, cream cheese puffs, those delicious green beans, the mushrooms, the beef and potatoes, etc. Every time I have been there I would say 90% of the customers were eating the buffet. Why get rid of it? I think this will not be a great decision for them. Sadly, I will probably not be returning.
