The pho is not good, but all the other dishes are excellent. Every dish is great except their pho soup.

DO NOT get the FRIED SHRIMP. I made an order thinking these would be normal garlic fried shrimp covered in crispy batter, but instead all I got was boiled prawns that you could tell were not cleaned, then they “sautéed” the prawns in this weird soy sauce with these small bits of onions. Very misleading picture on the menu. Very disappointing for $17!

Went on a Saturday evening and waited 10 min to be seated. Didn't see any anyone working around and when there was 1 person we saw, they just continued waiting. The pho broth was straight up salty and no flavor at all. Try to save it by pouring some water in it but didn't do much. Ordered the kaopia for my niece and the noodles came out orange and had a weird grainy texture to it. I asked the waitress if it was supposed to look like that cause that's not how kaopia noodles are supposed to look like. She said she had no idea. I was like wth? You served it but you don't know? Ask the cook?? She went to ask the owner and he told her to give us a new bowl. 2nd bowl was the same thing. I had to stopped a different worker to asked why their kaopia noodles looks orange? He said he will check because he don't know why too. He checked and came back and said he'll replace or take it off the check. At this point I was like no thanks. This is the 2nd bowl and no one has an answer for me why the noodles look and taste like this? Haven't been here in years and only stopped by cause it was late and closer to home. Never again!!!

The service here is always a hit or miss, as well as the food. Their pad thai was great, however was disappointed with other dishes I ordered like the kapoon and pho which was mid. The staff were nice but I spent most of the time waiting for service. Not bad, but not the best.

It was my first time going to this restaurant. I was so excited because I love pho. Anywhere I travel to, I always stop by any pho restaurant and order a big bowl of pho. I ordered the destiny pho combo, and the broth was so awful. After eating halfway, I've felt sick. The broth tasted like mop water. I came home and was sick for a few days. It will be my first and last time.

It has been years since my wife and I have dined in at DC2. The hype after its first opening seems to have died down. Usually when asked about DC2's food, folks seem to have mixed reviews. So because we were around in the area yesterday, we decided to give it a try to see what has changed. The menu seems about the same, with a few less items. The biggest change is the prices, which definitely is dollars more than it use to. Understanding with economy/inflation, pricing up is eventually going to happen. But is it worth really spending about $5-$10 on dishes where you can go a few blocks over to Hmong Village for cheaper? We ordered the combination pad thai (big noodles), papaya salad (Thai med spicy), and hli xiab (fried pork with tamarind sauce). I was always a big fan of the pad thai sauce from DC2, which seems to be the same as I remember it. However, the noodles are a bit thicker, like chow fun noodles. It was soft, feels homemade, and paired very well with the sauce & meats. The papaya salad was not overly sauced, and tasted very fresh. It had just the right amount of spiciness, sweetness, and sourness for both my wife and I. The hli xiab was a dish we have not tried before, and did very much enjoy. You pick a choice of meat which is stir fried with a sweet tamarind sauce accompanied with bell peppers and onions. There is an option to add spiciness, which we did do. We chose pork which was first fried, then cooked with the sauce and veggies. If you love sweet like in orange chicken, then this is the dish for you!The service was great, much better then I remember it. We were seated immediately, and the waiter was attentive. They also have a call system button now which you can click to ask for something or add things too.Overall, I was very impressed with DC2 and will come again. To go back on my question, I would rather spend few more dollars here then go to Hmong Village.

I love the raw laab and laab nam too here and normally order to-go. The last 3 time I ordered the laab here, the lettuce that comes and is used with the dish is not washed. I found an insect on the lettuce, and the last order the lettuce still had dirt on it.It would be nice if the restaurant can wash their veggies before serving it.
