Far east has been closed for a while now and just recently opened again. We’ve been trying to go but every time we go, they were closed. We finally got a chance to go after checking their hours on FB. There was no clear indicator of where the new entrance is. Services were extremely slow, stood around for a few minutes before we were even approached for a seat. Had my kids with me but was told they did not have any high chairs available. When we got to our seat, we waited for a menu and the waiter brought us our waters fairly quickly and left. When waiter came back and asked if we were ready to order (we said we didn’t get a menu yet, was told that the menu was a QR code (the water was on top of it so we didn’t see). The menu is small (which is fine) but still took the waiter 5+ mins to come back to take our order. There were only 2 other tables and they were already taken care of. Pho took 10 mins to get to us and chicken wings took 15 mins. Overall, the food was okay, I ordered the oxtail pho and the oxtail was smaller than what it used to be. The flavoring use to be better, the broth tasted water down.

I’m a big fan of their spicy pork belly eggplants, but there are days when they served old food because the porkbelly is tough to chew which made me bit the inside of my mouth. Now I remembered why I stopped ordering from the place 4 years ago.

It’s a bar now. The sign outside says oxtail pho. That’s not true.

Great service, 2-4-1 special from 5 to 7pm on all drinks ?. Had the fried wings, came season with laab powder ?. Calamari always good. Papaya was thai style, wouldn't get again (bland). Boiled wing laab was under season. Needs to be dripping in sauce and seasoning like the original from CB. Place has chill vibe.

I wouldnt waste your time or money here, their food sucks the fried chicken wings over cooked and dry, fried calamari came out soggy and batter didn't even stick to it. Plus it was way to salty and on top and even after spending $100 there, they still charge me for $1 for a glass of water.

Personally only enjoyed the pho. The Papaya salad was too fishy. The fried rice was plain and the other veggie dish was decent. I also got their ice coffee which is more on the bitter side so I wasn't too big of a fan. It also took roughly 10 minutes for them to give us water and take our order but after that, the service was really good. Total was roughly $52

The restaurant smell so bad and not even busy but let us wait so long. We ordered sprite but the sprite taste like water.

This is one of my favorite restaurants to hit up whenever the eggplant and pork belly craving kicks in. Located in the east side of Saint Paul, you can find parking in the streets on the same block and across the streets. My most recent experience occurred during the early night hours and I was the only customer. I haven't been here since COVID-19 and almost forgot how to get into the restaurant since there are multiple entrance doors. The corner entrance is closed and only open when the bar area is open. The restaurant entrance is towards the center. Even after the first entrance, you have to use the dining area door. Usually they kept it open; however, it was closed that night. The servers were friendly and gave me the option to pick my table. I selected the booth next to the window. Although I wasn't given a menu, I already knew my order would include the spicy eggplant and pork belly and jasmine tea. Side note, spring rolls wasn't available. The service was quick and the food came out hot. The rice came separately in a small bowl. The pork belly tasted crispy and the eggplants soft. Each bite was filled with the sweetness of the sauce. I split up the main dish and saved the other half to be packed to go. The dish itself wasn't spicy despite the presence of pepper flakes. I also added the chili oil pepper from the container on table and it wasn't spicy. Word of caution since I have a higher level of spice tolerance. Overall 3.5 stars; would recommend for others to check out this restaurant. I have returned more than once just for one dish.
