Great little hole in the wall. I have been going here for years and the chicken wings are always outstanding. They have a unique dry rub and have a variety of sauces on the side. There is a whole menu available, but I have never strayed from the wings. The service is friendly and the restaurant is clean. A great staple to the Frogtown neighborhood!

I was a little skeptical that this place would have good food. Well I was wrong, it has AMAZING wings. We ordered sauce and didn’t even use it! Without a doubt some of the best wings I have ever had.

However, Someone loved their job today cause them rib tips were fire ? and the chicken wings never disappoint!! 4Stars on atmosphere because of the cumbersome parking!! Worth the money - Yes always a treat!!

Was not impressed with the food. Service was ok but when my food came it was cold. I would say the atmosphere was better than what they offer. I would not come back only if I'm really hungry and want to just eat something.
Hickory Hut is BBQ spot off of University and Dale in Frogtown. We placed a to-go order online through their website and it was super easy and convenient to use. For a family of 5, with tip, bill came about over $100. So we really wanted food to be tasty for the cost.Unfortunately, a lot of the food fell a little flat.Stars of our meal were the rib tips and pork ribs. Pork ribs were a bit on the drier side, but the flavor was amazing. We also really enjoyed the fries and hojos, not to be confused with jojos. (Hojos, were more of a fried chip) Seasoning was super good and they were cooked very well. The Mac and Cheese was probably just so so, but our youngest seemed to enjoy his.The brisket sandwiches left much disappointment, as we were served some type of beef on a sandwich. It did not look like any type of brisket that I have ever seen before and tasted mushy. The two people in our group that ordered these, ended up throwing them away, as they were just that unpalatable.Coleslaw was heavy on the vinegar, to the point that the vinegar and cream were separating, so I would not recommend as a side.I would probably stick to the ribs if you want to give this place a try. If you do want sides, I would opt for potatoes.

their food is horrible, dont taste the same smh. portions are SO little smaller than what a 1 year old would eat. chicken soggy. and they dont even wear gloves.waste of $17. i should have gotten McDonalds.

This place sucks the food is way over priced. We ordered online and it took 29 minutes beyond the pick up time to get the food. Counter service gave less than a damn about having customers wait 29 minutes beyond pick up time.

I have good memories eating ribs at the Hickory Hut many years ago when I would stop there during my work day from time to time. It was always a special treat. The sauce was so spicy and would leave my mouth tingling for hours afterwards.Last night I brought my family there and the ribs were just like I remembered. My wife liked it too and that makes me happy because I know she will want to go back.

HORRIBLE RIB TIPS!!! I've gave this place the benefit of the doubt a couple of times. But its all bone and gristle constantly bring back Big Daddys
