This place was the perfect spot to meet up our son who attends University of St. Thomas for brunch before sending him off to study abroad. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was amazing (hollandaise sauce - yummmm), we had a reservation which was helpful because it was very busy and people were waiting for tables.

I went one morning and it was very busy, but the staff still took my order very fast and brought the food quickly. I ordered the French toast and it was delicious. The portions were also very big so that I had plenty of leftovers.
Just an all around great place for some good diner style food and chat.

This is the best breakfast in Highland. The food is delicious, my favorite is the Sweet Potato Hash. The service and employees are always great.

Food was fine. Black plastic for takeout though? Come on, it's 2025...let's do better.
So Google said they had one of the best breakfast burritos in St Paul so I decided to check it out. I loved the breakfast burrito so decided to go back again. Breakfast burrito is supposed to have egg in it. This time they put only a very tiny amount of egg. I sent the order back and they agreed to make it again. Repeat order - same ...barely any egg on the burrito. It was more like hashbrown and bean burrito (since I didn't order meat). Disappointed.

The cheeseburger was adequate for the price point. Super friendly service. However I was totally disgusted by the overpowering smell of urine in both bathrooms. And this was at 7 in the am... What's up with that, Highland Grill?

Service was good. Fairly noisy place. And food was just ok. Had the chicken sandwich which was bland, chips were not good and tasted funny. Eggs Benny was also disappointing, holandaise sauce was mediocre, hash browns were ok but too salty in some areas and no salt in others.
One thing we did really like was the loaded tots. I'd probably have been happy if I just ordered that as a meal. Place was pretty full at 6pm on a Wednesday.

Got the chicken sandwich - it was truly awful. A pretty easy thing to make and it was basically just mayo on a piece of fried chicken. No flavor.

Been coming here for years- worth the 20 minute drive. Best breakfast in St Paul or the East metro for that matter. Scratch hollandaise, fresh ingredients, and everything else that makes a great restaurant.

EAT ON THE STREET: the space outside in summer is really fun and its actually quieter OUTSIDE when its really busy inside. The steak perogies is a showstopper and so is the Brussel sprouts. Its a perfect friend spot to catch up and get reacquainted, they allow dogs outside and its a nice spot to have the dog with you ( well mannered of course) and hand out for a little funshine date wit your pet.
