Poor service- forgotten drinks, inattentiveness, unfriendliness, and just getting miserable vibes from the waitstaff. Celebrated my family member’s birthday and there was no acknowledgement. They never brought out her drink either. When we mentioned we didn’t need it anymore at the end of the meal, the server denied us ordering it and then later backtracked her statement saying she did indeed forget.
Layout is odd in this restaurant. Table was very close to a serving station of some sort, and I mean uncomfortably close to it. While sitting, behind me was an open to the dining room kitchen. Very loud. They used the shelf behind me as a space to store plates and each time a stack of a dozen or so plates was set down on the stainless steel it was quite loud.
Food is alright. Depends on what you order and your preferences! Don’t go ordering the biscuit and gravy expecting biscuits. It’s actually biscuit. ONE biscuit. $16 for two eggs, hash-browns, and one biscuit. Quite disappointing. $4 for a seasonal fruit. Not sure why I thought a fruit cup was a normal breakfast side. It was just half frozen, sugar glazed strawberries and blueberries. Maybe they should clarify it is for French toast or waffles.
Lastly, my bill was incorrect. Tell me why a $16 biscuit and gravy, $19 chicken fried steak and eggs, and a $4 seasonal fruit was $51 before tip? No beverages were ordered. Server had us pay the bill on her little iPad thing so of course we weren’t able to see an itemized bill or get a receipt. When I then questioned it and everyone else paid, she was no where to be found.

Oh and the owners are frauds. Wont be returning.

We had an amazing server Monique, at the Blaine location Sunday 12/7. In fact everyone we encountered that day was kind, helpful, and you could tell just happy to work there. Food was great, drinks were amazing. Monique at the end, really took her time as we shared a story with her and was such an impactful interaction!!!

Hopes Breakfast Bar in St. Paul has serious “worth the walk” energy. We parked a few blocks away after an Electric Callboy show and joined the crowd, which is always a good sign. Inside, the place was buzzing and cozy, with a sign out front noting they donate a percentage of sales to local charity—major bonus points.

My wife loved her cotton candy mimosa, playful and fun without being over the top. I ordered the German chocolate pancakes, hoping for that classic chocolate–caramel–coconut combo. They were rich and tasty, but the coconut was more of a whisper than a feature, so it didn’t fully scratch that German chocolate itch.

Everyone else at the table was happy with their food, portions were solid, and the vibe was warm and welcoming. Overall, it’s a great breakfast spot with heart, even if not every dish is a bullseye.

We visited the St Louis Park location this morning & everything we ordered was disappointing. The salmon & pimento scramble arrived with grilled salmon pieces on top that were incredibly dry, as was the sourdough toast. Our order of the hope breakfast was incredibly salty & again, very dry toast. The bread tasted old. We also did a baby stack of carrot cake pancakes which were way too sweet. The other issue is that nothing was plated well - everything was just piled on the plate covering up other parts of the dish which wasn’t very appetizing for the eyes. The side salad was a huge miss - so much chopped red onion, tomato, cucumber & very little lettuce. There are so many delicious sounding menu options but unfortunately today everything fell flat. Nothing arrived to our table looking enticing & the execution was way off. Love their mission but I wouldn’t recommend this to friends & family when even the basics aren’t done well.

We love their other locations and never had a bad meal. Went to this one and they served my partner RAW pancakes like just complete raw dough as soon as you cut in. They remade them and they were RAW and uncooked again.. they only comped the pancakes nothing else and even encouraged us to order the “thinner” pancakes next time. She left hungry. Awful

We went to celebrate our son's 2nd birthday yesterday. We were at the St.Paul location and sat upstairs. The food, staff, and especially our server were amazing! We hope to go back soon.

Came with family to celebrate. Server Sophia was not interested in us at all. Never checked in on us, and took forever to get bills. She kept passing by the table turning her back towards us. Service was poor.

Food was good tho!

5/5! Amazing food! Great establishment. I love to see businesses give back to the community. It’s very heart warming in this ugly world as we know it right now.

I really enjoyed Hope Breakfast Bar. I ordered the biscuits and gravy and they were amazing. We also ordered some banana bread pancakes for the table-very sweet but very delicious! All 3 of us had pumpkin spice lattes and we even ordered a second to go because they were so good. Service was great and the vibes were good. My only complain is parking-but that was to be expected downtown.

I wouldn’t go here if you want a relaxed breakfast. We spent over $200 and because we were sitting for 75 minutes we were asked to leave. It was embarrassing and the manager called me to “make it right” and all he did was quote their policy as if that should matter to my experience. They value profit over people, the rest is just a marketing ploy.
