Wonderful restaurant. Excellent service and food. Low key elegant and often kept secret because it’s a special place appreciated by discerning people.

Consistently impresses me. We've been four times and Hyacinth has earned its spot in my top 5 favorite restaurants in the Twin Cities (which is NOT easy to do). It feels like a New York restaurant, upscale, unpretentious, inviting, and delicious. The fried olives and desserts are always fantastic. Each entree has been amazing! You have to go if you haven't been!

All the food ordered for 2 (fried olives, flatbread, watermelon salad, large bucatini pasta, and chicken marsala) was very good, smaller portions though. Just check the menu prices in advance of making a reservation so you know how much you’ll be spending.

Usually when I have unsatisfactory food at a place, I just walk away, but this one particular dish was so bad that I felt compelled to leave a review for. The atmosphere was good, all other dishes were good, great flatbread, great cocktail, and great pasta, but this $40 pork chop was so bad. It was a conglomerate of incompatible flavours: salt, pig stink, balsamic vinegar and some kind of chili oil in a non-emulsified, watery liquid, with the soft and bouncy fat from the pork soaking in said liquid. Pls fix, or don’t, thx.

Love this place! Our watermelon salad was fabulous and everything went from there. The servers are so knowledgeable. Never been disappointed! Shhhh... let's keep it a secret!

The ambiance is great and the food was quite good. Loved that they had a wide array of ciders to choose from. We had five people and an infant. We split the watermelon salad and the squash crostini - both of which were great. I had the Pork Coppa for the entree and while it was good, it was $40 for a small/medium cut of pork with vinegar and fried radicchio on top. I was a little underwhelmed by what I got for the price.
Overall, nice vibes and some inventive dishes, but the pricing is a bit questionable for certain entrees. Next time I would probably get one of the larger pastas and split it with someone; that seems like what a lot of other people were doing!

Everything we ate and drink was incredible. I got the Marmalade Spritz—divine. My bestie and I shared two salads (the watermelon & zucchini w/ ricotta), and two main courses (the Mezze Meniche which was a beautiful pesto w/ walnuts and anchovies and the crispy risotto). All filled us up with flavor, texture, veggies (and fruit!), and deliciousness. The Mezze Meniche pesto reminded me of my mom’s walnut pesto and I had a nostalgic experience eating it straight out of “Ratatouille”. Our waiter was a delight, giving us good insight to our meal and questions. My bestie and I haven’t had a sit down meal together alone in years and this was a very special evening 💓

It's a gift to have a restaurant of this quality right on Grand Ave. It is as good as anything you'd find in New York, where its original owners are from, and the new owner (original chef) has somehow improved it further.
A great spot for a fancy date night or occasion (with a price tag to match), cozy atmosphere and attentive service. The food is universally excellent, Italian inspired but strikingly modern in sensibility.
The highlight on a recent visit was Wild Acres Chicken Tonnnato, a twist on the Milanese classic with achingly tender chicken, a sharp creamy dill sauce, and fresh sautéed green beans on top. Risotto arrived as a hulking flat disc, a giant salty hash brown. The pasta, served al dented, was dressed with a pesto incorporating several unconventional ingredients.
If you're after a red sauce joint, this isn't it. In a city with endless Italian-American standards, that's a wonderful thing.

Service was kind but at times forgetful and needed some reminding. Grilled chicken dish was not very crispy, rather slimy coated in a later of skin/fat atop with tartar sauce. Herbs, toppings and seasonings were on point. Wouldn't order the chicken again. Room temperature water in pitcher is your initial greeting, no ice. No paper napkins for silverware, just napkin for your lap and silverware to be left on top of the bare table where waiter places them. Server's hygiene was slightly amiss. Overall experience 6.7 out of 10.
