Great place for a night out. I would recommend a reservation for a table, however they are accommodating with open bar seats. The food was good, i enjoyed the tortellini and my friend had the alfredo. I usually stay away from eating pasta because I find it sitting heavy, but the flavors of the tortellini dish overpowered my dread of a food coma afterwards. Our waitress gave a good amount of cheese so not complaints there. Only thing was the seating area was weird. It made sense since our table and the tables around us were under lamps, but being squished between two parties and being placed in an aisle like spot was something to acclimate to. Otherwise, wonderful night and good desserts!

After many experiences at la grolla this time was not the same the food quality is down.maybe to busy or maybe Antonio the owner wasn't there? But for me is one of the best Italian in MN.

We were shocked last night that Old LaGrolla is gone! I ordered Capillini Al Basicilo, I was SHOCKED and disappointed to see how big pasta is!! Way toooo much noodles that would feed 3 people and little sauce! I sent my food back very disappointed! Tooo much carb! High pile of noodles Some of my favorites from the menu are gone. My husband hated his soup like lasagna!!! New ownership and chef? It’s like Olive Garden food. Very noisy, banging , tables moving …. Poor service

I love La Grolla and have been coming here for many years. Today's experience reminded me of why I love this restaurant so much. Some friends who had just gotten married were visiting Saint Paul and I wanted to make a special dinner for them to celebrate their new lives together. Though I had all kinds of good plans and had bought most of the ingredients, my work took me away and I had about two hours to put together a lovely and meaningful wedding celebration meal. I knew I would not have time to cook, but that I could make my tablescape lovely. What I didn't have time for was to cook! I remembered that I absolutely adore the champagne chicken dish at La Grolla and called to ask if I could pick up three orders of it. Marcella, who is wonderful, helped me tremendously. The food was packaged in a way that I could plate it up very nicely. They included bread and olive oil and grated cheese. It was spectacular! I had everything I needed. I told my friends what had happened and they were so happy to have this exquisite meal. I told them that I didn't make the food, but I made it possible! Thank you, La Grolla for saving the day!

The service was pretty mid, not really impressive or terrible, just kind of average and slow at times. Also, the portions were inconsistent — one dish of the vodka pasta with lots of sauce yet little noodles, the other with barely any sauce and lots of noodles and the last one completely normal and what i expected everyone to get. sometimes they felt generous, but other times they were noticeably smaller, which made the whole experience feel a bit off. Overall, it left me feeling a bit disappointed.
