Chill little homemade Italian place. The two pasta dishes we got word decent but not incredibly flavorful. The patio outside is super cute!

Good food in a lovely atmosphere. The wine was better than the cocktails. The portions were generous and my fettuccine bolognese and with added vegetables was tasty

I visited La Grolla for the first time for a friend's birthday party, and it did not disappoint! The pasta was delicious and I will definitely be back again in the future!

Picked La Grolla as a date spot and the atmosphere didn’t disappoint. We sat outside and it was amazing. The issues I had were with the service and the food. We were seated 15 minutes after walking in the door and I did make a reservation which we were on time for. After being seated we waited around 20-25 minutes for our waitress to visit us. We did receive their bread in this time but still had empty water glasses and no sign of the waitress. She came by and we put in an appetizer( Bruschetta) which came out fairly quick and was alright, but then again no sign of her. I understand it gets busy but at this point we had been at the restaurant for over an hour and still didn’t have the drink I had ordered(Old Fashioned) or put in our entrees. When she came back we both ordered the Fettuccine Bolognese which was very cream based, which isn’t the typical experience with Bolognese. I won’t say it was bad but definitely lacked flavor. The Old fashioned had come by now and it was whiskey poured on top of muddled cherry, for 17 dollars I feel the most betrayed. I would not come back due to the food being very underwhelming, and the service was slow and unpersonalized. 100 dollars for a small appetizer of bread and tomatoes, two medium sized pasta dishes and one drink, I expected much more.

Nice atmosphere and the service was good. My wife had a pasta and meat dish and it was very good and plenty of it. I ordered the swordfish special and it was not good at all. Very thin piece of fish and it was over cooked and very fishy tasting. We will go back, because my wife's was good; I will not order fish from them again.

Food portions were large, and very fresh. It seemed like most of the pasta was freshly made. Prices were reasonable and this restaurant was bustling for a Wednesday night.

It was mostly a nice experience. We seemed to have been the somewhat forgotten table. Forgot to bring the soup. Never asked if we wanted any salt or pepper or Parmesan cheese. never got my drink refilled.. the food was fair. I expected Italian food at an Italian restaurant to be a little more authentic. The soup was delicious! The caprese salad was ok and my fettuccini Alfredo lacked flavor. I really liked the atmosphere. I will go back and give it another try as it wasn’t terrible. Could just have been an off night. I have always only heard good things about this restaurant so I will be back..

We got the tuna tartare, the fettuccine alle aragosta, ravioli d granchio, and the insalata de spinaci. All the food was delicious. The ravioli and fettuccini were amazing.

La Grolla has been a family favorite for years. Even with changes over the years it remains one of our Go-To dining options. Service is great, food never disappoints (Spaghetti Puttanesca is my favorite), a variety of seating options, reasonably priced menu, validated off-street parking. It's a no-fail choice for St Paul dining.

We went for dinner early, before a hockey game.
Every member of the staff was engaged and helpful.
Split a salad, an adult beverage each, two fresh pasta dinners, and a scratch made tiramisu split for dessert. All in before tip (and an undisclosed 5% service charge) was under $100.
One of the best Italian dinners we've had in the Twin Cities!
