It was ok. The food was ok. The service was ok (I feel the elderly waitress was over worked). The atmosphere was extremely packed and over crowded. Which is fine if the service and food are great. My chicken was pretty good and was actually better leftover. My friend enjoyed his steak. We both had a thumbs down on their signature scallops appetizer ( though the sauce and salad like portion was ok). The tiramisu was delicious! We had reservations but still had to wait 30-40 mins.

The food and waitress was great. The down side, why make a reservation then show up on time to have to stand in a small extremely crowded spot for 45 minutes and then to be told the hostess are young and then walk away. If you go here make sure you have plenty of time.

Gluten free pasta option available for most dishes except for filled pastas. Pleasantly surprised by the texture and flavor. The penne is not shaped like what a standard penne is shaped but it got the job done. I believe all/ most pasta sauces were GF as well.

The alfredo sauce had good flavor. Not too heavy. Added chicken and it was chunks of chicken breast tossed within the dish, which wasn't bad, just not what I was expecting. I envisioned a chicken breast sliced up aside or atop of the pasta.

Chicken itself with a bit dry but there was a good ratio of pasta to chicken.

I took a picture but it's doesn't present the way it when it came out initially.

Good food. Friendly staff. However, the tables are way too close to each other.

We ate at La Grolla in St. Paul and it was outstanding! The food was excellent, the atmosphere was wonderful, and our server, Lois, was incredibly friendly and accommodating. She truly made the experience even better. Highly recommend!

First time here and what a fantastic experience. I came with my daughter and we both loved everything about it—the atmosphere was warm and inviting, the meals were absolutely fantastic, and the wine menu was excellent. I can’t remember our server’s name, but she’s been serving for 40 years and it showed in the best way possible—professional, friendly, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcome. This was one of those meals where nothing felt rushed and everything just worked. We’ll definitely be back. Highly recommend.

Finally tried this place for the first time earlier this month and it was absolutely fabulous! Best pasta I've had in a long time. It's clear they put a lot of work into making their food the highest quality possible. Our server was so friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Drinks and dessert also knocked it out of the park. With the cozy and adorable atmosphere on top of everything, I think this might be my new favorite date spot going forward.

This was our first time here. Parking was easy as they have a lot next to the building, which they will validate. Make sure to scan the code when you first go in the restaurant. The person who sat us was not very friendly, but the server was very nice. The food was good, but the portions were very small for the price. I'm not sure if we will be back again.

Love lagrolla and at one time ate here once a week. Came in around 830 tonight, they close at 10.
Server was great btw. Cheryl:)
However right now at 930 sitting next to mop bucket, listening to Mexican music blaring from the kitchen. One of the staff grab my plates without asking if I done. Couldn’t get out of here fast enough.
Food awesome as always, servers alway great. But at 9 the experience passed. They are open till 10.
Seriously a mop bucket sitting next to us for 30 minutes now.
Thanks however. Love this place, but tonight lost it a bit.

Our first time here and was NOT disappointed. It is a cute little restaurant with a very nice environment. Martine was our server and she was very attentive. She recommended the penne and it was great. The hubby also tried the Pollo Champagne and he was impressed. Would definitely return.

Parking lot near building and restaurant will validate. So scan once inside.

If you make a reservation online, don't expect them to honor it!!

My first time here and we won’t be back. They overbook the restaurant so the small entry has ten to fifteen people waiting fifteen or more minutes after their reservation time. The server was not very friendly. The other staff were rather harsh and two of them had an argument next to our table re-setting a table a foot away. The food was mediocre. They charged my husband an extra $2 for crab cakes because he had them as an entree. No more food, just because. And the crab cakes were awful. My special spicy pasta dish had no depth and was not good. Overcrowded and rushed.

A party of 16 shared an excellent dinner and drinks last night (Dec. 16th). We could not have had a better experience. I wasn't sure how they would handle our large group, but we sat in the elevated parlor room just off the main room and it was perfect. I also want to give a really huge shout out to our waiter Paul. He was gracious, helpful and very attentive without being intrusive. Excellent job!!!! The food was wonderful too. Even if it had been 60 below outside it would have felt warm and toasty in this wonderful restaurant. Thank you all and Merry Christmas.
