We went to the Louisiana Cafe for Father's Day. We always come here for family gatherings, holidays, birthdays, etc. It's everyone's favorite. Their hash browns are perfect, crispy on top and soft and well cooked on the bottom. Their Cajun breakfast and Cajun Benedict are also favorites, with the andoiulle sausage. The seasoning is great, the mushrooms onions and peppers are cooked perfectly every time. My daughter loves their chocolate chip cookie dough pancakes, how could you not? And their portion sizes are massive. We always have leftovers to bring home. And prices are very reasonable. It's great all around!
We love the biscuits and gravy, and the eggs Benedict. Absolutely perfect every time. The staff is great.
Jenifer was so rude and inattentive. Part of our table arrived before my children and I got there. I was greeted by her long after sitting by her hurrying over to snatch the high chair I just got and putting it away saying “you can’t have high chairs here.” Ok fair enough. She didn’t offer to move us to a new table so my baby could sit and eat. I had to get up and ask to move she said ok, didn’t help us move our drinks and silverware to a new table. We moved to a booth out of the way in the back of the restaurant and she let me know that was still a problem to use a high chair despite having no problem with another family having their child in a high chair at the end of their table in the area where we moved from. Ok….had to get up multiple times to ask for straws, syrup, plates. Definitely did not feel welcomed there. Food was decent. Boxed up most of my meal. Went here with my disabled son’s PCA for the purpose of him getting practice dining out and it’s funny because I wanted to tip well to ensure we get taken care of when we came back. Was hoping to make it our regular spot to practice since it’s right up the block but definitely not eager to go back. First time in my life not tipping.
I loved ❤️ my first visit to this place. Honestly I googled Black owned restaurants near me because I am Pro Black and I'd like to support my community and I'm noticing that when you get to a place it's not Black owned so the listing is misleading but I don't mind supporting diverse groups. What I did like about this place is that it's big and has plenty of seating, it was clean! the coffee is rich and smooth the food was great very big portions 😍! But....can get pricey for one person. My bill came up to $38.07 plus the tip $5.07
No bananas foster?? How can you call yourself Louisiana Cafe?
Terrible food, wet hash browns burned on the underside, burned rye toast, got the country fried steak and I can taste the flower in the gravy like it tastes just like flower, don’t waster your time here, you’ll be upset at this crap
Nice lil quiet spot. Great food, large portions.
You really get your money’s worth.

The fact that this place is called “Louisiana Cafe” is just pathetic. As someone who is from the south this menu was extraordinarily disappointing. Other than 20 versions of eggs Benedict over and over again there is almost nothing that can be connected to Louisiana. Like the Cajun breakfast, what even is that? It’s just another plate of eggs Benedict, with Cajun spices? And you have to pay extra for the andouille!! Shouldn’t everything have Louisiana style spices if this is the Louisiana Cafe? Where is your shrimp and grits?? Where is the beans and rice?!?! No gumbo? Come on man. This is just a regular diner that has almost nothing more to offer than any American diner around the cities. Do not waste your time if you are looking for true southern food. How sad, I was very hopeful.

I want to like this place because on paper the menu is exactly to my taste, but the three times I've eaten here my food has been pretty mid. I've ordered something with hollandaise each time and every time it's broken and gritty and the eggs have been hard cooked when I requested over easy. EVERY TIME. This last time two of our four dishes were not fully heated thru as well. It's as though they're leaving the food under the heat lamps too long prior to serving. Maybe the non egg dishes are prepared better, but I'm not likely to know because I won't give it another try.
The food aside, I can offer that:
-the service has been consistently good.
-it's very wheelchair accessible.
-the acoustics are bad and it is very loud and difficult to converse when busy.

December 29, Sunday morning, super busy at the cafe. We last minute decide to take our kids and grandkids out for breakfast. 16 adults, 20 grandchildren 13 and under. We knew they have a back room so we showed up to take our chances. They could have laughed and shown us the door. Instead they set up the three remaining tables in the back room and proceeded to be cheerful, accommodating, and overall amazing. Good food and pretty fast considering.
We’ve eaten here a few times before, but this service was over the top excellent. Thanks to the wonderful wait staff that morning for allowing us to have such a great time together!

Food had no flavor. Was a big disappointment. Should not have Louisiana name associated with it at all as the food in Louisiana is so amazing. The staff is as awesome as far as service goes.
