Ignore the one star reviews. This is the definition of a greasy spoon. It's small, it's greasy, it's DAMN good. Stop thinking this is more than a place that's one grease fire away from coming down.

Not nearly as good as it used to be. Fish is smaller and not as tasty. Got some takeout recently and half the order was burnt. Unfortunately I think they charge too much to over cook their food. I have gotten food here many times and I'm slowly losing my appreciation for this place. Oh well.

Mac's Fish and Chips is all about the food. It is *carefully* prepared and thoroughly delicious. They cut their own potatoes, too - they are *not* pre-sliced at a factory. They prepare their own food! My friends also like the taffy.

I do their food take-out rather than dine-in, but if they get to rebuild the restaurant, I'm sure that it will be a big step up.

In the north suburbs, if you crave fish and chips - whether cod or walleye - THIS is where you should go! Summer dining outside is also a real plus.

The French fries we're not cook right you need to change your grease and cook the fish a little longer it's the worst dog on fish dinner I've had sorry to inform you but it is what it is change your grease every day these fries are burnt I could take them back and throw them in the door at you you copy that and get back mister Henderson

Fish, chips, shrimp, chicken strips. No halibut avail on this visit. Low key, very simple.
Walleye sammy was good, slaw good, tarter good. Fountain sodapop drinks, some bottled sodapop.
Overall, good.

Pretty delicious fish. Very casual/outdoor dining only - this is not a fancy place. Service was friendly and helpful. They do all their own battering right there on site fresh (including the cheese curds!) And the batter is very pleasant. The food was a wee bit greasy (it is all deep fried after all) but setting the fish on a napkin for a few mins helped with that. Personally, I thought it was quite yummy and had a fun atmosphere with the little picnic area set up in the parking lot.

Parking: There's not a HUGE parking lot but we didn't have trouble getting a spot. People don't really spend a long time here taking up spaces.

My man and I go to Macs a few times a year.. It is always great.. We sit on the patio outside. The service is great. We will always go to Macs as long as it is around

Man, those fish tacos are a fantastic. The only thing I would do different is just put a little heat on the tortillas first. Otherwise they taste great with the sauce man you guys going to try these

This place is unreal! Why did no one tell me about it until I accidentally drove by and got oil next door. Super old school place, 80s music inside. Had the walleye. It was perfect, not greasy. Fries excellent. Tartar sauce was homemade with homemade pickles. Wow.
