Fantastic tuna tacos, crab and oysters!
Probably the third time I’ve eaten here and without a doubt, the best. The pumpkin soup was one of the most wonderful things I’ve ever eaten. I also was given a complimentary amuse buche and had the duck breast as the main. Everything was exceptional.

Took my spouse to bday dinner at Meritage. To start, the place needs to be cleaned: top to bottom. Needs to be repainted thereafter. Staff, was…, disinterested. Specifically, bar staff was MN-nice, yet slow. Hostess was…, horrible. No eye contact, too involved in her cell phone. Really lacking. The rockstars were our waiter and waitstaff. They were the only 5-star part of the evening. The food, unfortunately like so many local ‘French’ restaurants was grossly, I mean grossly, over salted. Anyone who has read my reviews knows the breadth of my culinary experiences, and thus place out-salted the former Wayzata Bellecour…, wow. While salty, French Onion soup was tasty. Wines were awesome, as was staff’s selection. Yet overall, very disappointing for such a highly regarded place. Clean it. Paint it. Get a new hostess. Cut the salt by 75%. Be forewarned.
Horrible service. The server had a bad attitude. Many eye rolls which we did not appreciate. She seemed as if we are inconveniencing her. She was short with a long brown braid. Also the owner was at the bar acting quite drunk. It was odd. No one working seemed to be happy. Quite toxic.
What a wonderful place eat! I took myself on a date tonight celebrate!!! I had the oxtail small bite, the crispy duck leg confit, and the chocolate pistachio dessert. Everything was phenomenal from the food to the service. I highly recommend you try this place out if you have time.
My first visit after hearing about this place for years. It did not disappoint!! The food was impeccable and I tried a number of new dishes. From the apps to the dessert this place does it right. We could have rolled outselves out the door. Each bite so delicious you can almost not stop eating. So many little touches with the plating. The chef's really know what they are doing. And a shout out to the staff who were so professional while still being personable. We couldn't have enjoyed the place more. PS Shout out to Chef Jason, who's visit to the table topped the experience.
We have come to meritage for brunch every weekend years ago. It was absolutely Devine! We finally went for dinner and the experience wasn’t the same. The music wasn’t French, the waiter was awkward. The sole meunière was wonderful but small for the price and very overcooked yet still delicious! The mussels were good, not my favorite mussel sauce. The steak tartar was great and mussels were very fresh as well.
Delicious, mostly French food. My friend ordered mouses frites and I had steak frites. Both were perfect. Our waitress was friendly and efficient. Glass of Pinot Noir $16.
Wait staff gentile, gracious and accessible (Thank you Sam); dinner flavors layered, creating a gustatory interplay previously never experienced. If this is french cooking, I may never be as satisfied elsewhere. Outstanding. Wine pairings perfect (except dessert wine too muscadine).
I called to make a reservation and was told by the receptionist that only patio seating was available. When I inquired about inside seating, she became impatient and mentioned that there might be availability at 6:30 PM. I asked if I could book it, and she said yes. Initially, she said she could pull out my phone number (I assumed she could see it from her display), so I confirmed it was for two people. When she asked for my phone number again, I thought I misheard and asked her to repeat. Shockingly, she hung up on me. This kind of attitude is unacceptable and tarnishes the reputation of such a high-quality restaurant.

It's a nice dining experience. We enjoyed the food. The duck portion is really tasty and it's cooked medium so very soft and tender ? their fries are good too and crab appetizer is nice. Interior is old and typical old French restaurants. Servers are well knowledgeable and explain each plate clearly.

Our dining group, Haute Plates, visited Meritage last night. What a top-notch experience! From the champagne, oysters and pâté, to the spectacular entrees, desserts, and absinthe pour, we were well sated. Excellent service (Hannah, table staff, bar) and a cozy setting in the Oyster Bar kick this place beyond 5 stars. There were both virgin and veteran diners in the group, all smiling throughout their meal.
Highlights: the always impeccable oyster selection, Crab Louis salad, pressed chicken, seafood and corn risotto, heirloom tomato salad, pâté, the best french fries in town, champagne, creme brûleé, crepes Suzette, an unpictured pork chop and a salade nicoise.

Thank you to everyone at Meritage for your heartfelt dedication to your art. We were transported to an experience that resembled late nights in the meat packing district in NY, or in Paris.
There was no rush, the freshest oysters and champagne cocktails to start. Onion soup that will make you cry and want to hug your mom, and hanger steak and fries to soak up all delectable wines.
Tyler treated us like we were at his home having dinner, and we were old friends.
A truly unexpected location for one of the most memorable experiences in the most unexpected location.
