I called to make a reservation and was told by the receptionist that only patio seating was available. When I inquired about inside seating, she became impatient and mentioned that there might be availability at 6:30 PM. I asked if I could book it, and she said yes. Initially, she said she could pull out my phone number (I assumed she could see it from her display), so I confirmed it was for two people. When she asked for my phone number again, I thought I misheard and asked her to repeat. Shockingly, she hung up on me. This kind of attitude is unacceptable and tarnishes the reputation of such a high-quality restaurant.

It's a nice dining experience. We enjoyed the food. The duck portion is really tasty and it's cooked medium so very soft and tender ? their fries are good too and crab appetizer is nice. Interior is old and typical old French restaurants. Servers are well knowledgeable and explain each plate clearly.

Our dining group, Haute Plates, visited Meritage last night. What a top-notch experience! From the champagne, oysters and pâté, to the spectacular entrees, desserts, and absinthe pour, we were well sated. Excellent service (Hannah, table staff, bar) and a cozy setting in the Oyster Bar kick this place beyond 5 stars. There were both virgin and veteran diners in the group, all smiling throughout their meal.
Highlights: the always impeccable oyster selection, Crab Louis salad, pressed chicken, seafood and corn risotto, heirloom tomato salad, pâté, the best french fries in town, champagne, creme brûleé, crepes Suzette, an unpictured pork chop and a salade nicoise.

Thank you to everyone at Meritage for your heartfelt dedication to your art. We were transported to an experience that resembled late nights in the meat packing district in NY, or in Paris.
There was no rush, the freshest oysters and champagne cocktails to start. Onion soup that will make you cry and want to hug your mom, and hanger steak and fries to soak up all delectable wines.
Tyler treated us like we were at his home having dinner, and we were old friends.
A truly unexpected location for one of the most memorable experiences in the most unexpected location.

My wife and I just celebrated our 16th anniversary with a visit to Meritage - and to say that the experience was stunning would be an understatement.

We opted for the 7-course tasting menu with wine pairing. EVERY single dish was amazing. Every. One. The pacing was perfect, and the waitstaff were on top of everything, without being overbearing in any way.

Short version, it was just a transcendent experience, and one that we will remember for the rest of our lives.

Thank you to ALL of the staff for the care and love you put into what you do.

Meritage - 2.5 out of 5. French Restaurant we had high hopes for that flamed out. If you get the waiter with the funny mustache run away - he is aloof and rude. The food was mediocre at best. Skip it!

We had a lovely dinner at Meritage! We did the 9 course tasting paired with wine and it was wonderful. The food was all great. We got a bonus amuse-bouche and some bonus mini desserts in addition to our 9 delicious courses. The meal wasn't rushed at all. All the wine pairings were fabulous. Service was great! We will definitely be back!

We all had a delightful evening. My family came here for a belated birthday dinner. We made reservations and we had to wait about 10 minutes to be seated. I joked with my
party that we were getting the full French experience (the delay and the lack of space for standing around to wait). We were seated by the window. The dining space is elegant and comfortable. The music was light and did not interfere with dinner conversation. We were offered some small pastries shortly after being seated. They tasted good and it was nice to have a little extra something as we waited. We were also offered bread and butter, which we accepted as well. We order the escargot as an appetizer and it was amazing. Save your bread to dip into the left over parsley butter! The parsley was so fresh tasting; it, with the butter broth was probably my favorite flavor of the dinner service. One party at our table ordered the oxtail strudel - it was oh so very dainty, but I am told it tasted amazing. There were lot's of things I could not try, as I cannot eat a dish that has onions in it. I did however, order several cocktails and each one was very balanced and I would recommend the cocktails; don't be afraid to go off menu and let them recommend something! I had the hanger steak and it was cooked to the right temperature and was tender. I ordered the Marquise Au Chocolate for dessert and it was very rich and enjoyable. There were a few small hiccups in timing and in dinner service, but they were almost of no notice, as our waiter was very personable and attentive. I could try to knock of a star for one thing or another, but all in all it was wonderful. We all had a very good time and I could see us coming back each year.

Parking: It's worth the moderate cost to just have valet park for you. Pull up in front and let them park your vehicle. At time of post this was $15.00

Meritage was everything we hoped for when looking for a classy restaurant to celebrate a birthday. My wife had the bass, and I had the pork chop, which was one of the best I’ve had since moving to Minnesota. Our server, Jeff, was friendly and attuned to all our needs. Thanks for making it a special night to celebrate a birthday.
