Tried this as a late lunch and man am I glad I did. I easily found street parking in front of the building and located this on the second floor of the Securian building (after looking at a map…it’s around the corner as if you’re using the skyway to go to an adjacent building). I got two empanadas; one chicken and one beef, along with two containers of sauce. The flavor was really good (seasoned meat and potato inside a delicious pastry shell cooked perfectly) and the portion size was more than filling. I ate half of each and saved the other half for later. The sauce had good flavor, wasn’t too spicy, and complemented the flavor of the meats with a little kick. What I presume was the owner was very friendly and even offered me a sample of a homemade beverage they have, which was also really tasty. Will add this establishment to my list of good lunch spots that don’t break the bank when downtown, for sure worth stopping at if you’re in the area.

Hidden gem in the skyway system. You just have to try it. Amazing food, I've tried a variety, and I'm never disappointed with the quality and flavors. Perfectly spiced, reasonably priced. What more could you ask for? The new food additions look incredible too. Try it and then tell your friends because you'll love it.

The food at Montabello's is fantastic! I picked up my order and my friend and I split the chicken and the beef empanadas. They were delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant. I am considering looking into their catering menu for an event. They are located in the Securian Building in St. Paul and are open for lunch. So glad I was able to try it out!

Food is stunning. Beautifully spiced, bold. The arepas themselves are soft and moist. Empanadas are *perfectly* fried. Look at those bubbles. We would’ve included pictures of the arepas, but we ate them too fast!

Montebellos has the BEST empanadas my family has ever tasted! And they are delicious!! Some are filled with meat but don’t stop at those. The vegetarian empanadas are full of spinach and cheese and the mushrooms and cheese filled ones are quite tasty (and I am not vegetarian).

I've been wanting to try this place for a while. I went for the current special, Cuban sandwich, but they were sold out for the day. So I ordered a shredded beef arepa and it was awesome! Very flavorful and tender meat. I gotta say, it doesn't look all that big but the amount of beef in there was super generous and I couldn't finish the whole thing. Got a side of yuca fries and those were great as well. Will definitely be back!
