I liked Demi and Tenant much much better. The food at those place really WOWED me each and every course. I cannot say the same for Myriel. Especially for the price.
It is a compact, loud restaurant that has no group experience element. Service was good as to be expected, a bit on the pretentious side (idc about the farmer his wife’s back story, reminded me of that sketch in Portlandia but in reverse)…. I realized these kinds of restaurants are not a good value proposition but I was very disappointed in the creativity of the dishes, and the portion size.
The main meat courses were a piece of a chicken breast that I could not pierce with a fork. The second meat course was a roast pork loin.
Oh…plan to be there at least 3 hours, for real.

We had what I believe was the A La Carte Menu. The Portions were extremely small, expensive and not at all tasty. Very expensive for 2 tablespoons of walleye ($30). The Lamb was ok but full of fat, total amount of meat was less than a tablespoon at $35. Squash was a good portion and quite good. The Pain was again very small only one slice of the loaf with plain tasteless butter. Service was great . Chairs are old folding chairs or bench booths all without padding and very uncomfortable. Extremely noisy during moat of dinner

The food was fine, but nothing to write home about. I got the carrot salad with clotted cream because I thought it sounded interesting. To me the ingredients weren't cohesive and all battled. The staff was very kind, but the layout of the restaurant for the 2 seats were a bit right. I absolutely appreciated the heat on high during the cold winter.

Food was good and atmosphere is great. Portions are very European sized- our $19 charcuterie board had exactly two small pieces of (delicious) cheese. Bowl of soup was 1/4 full (with amazing flavor.) Duck entree had two slim slices (with a most perfect crust and sauce.)
I appreciate that quality of flavor, dedication to farmers and small portions all correlate but it comes at a higher end price so just be aware… it would be nice if the consumer value to cost was also a consideration. I understand paying for quality but there should also be a balance with feeling full. Not trying to be a snob by any means but everyone is a bit broke these days. That being said we will totally be going back for another special occasion now that we are prepared for our two-slice cheese plate, because it truly was delicious ?

STELLAR! Walking into Myriel feels like stepping into a friends house. Prepare to be treated like your the guest of honor. The locally sourced produce and curated wine pairing were outstanding with attention to the smallest of details showing up throughout. Staff 5 stars, food 5 stars, atmosphere 5 stars. A truly remarkable meal and we can't wait to go back. MN has a gem in Myriel!

We went to Myriel to celebrate our anniversary. It was our first time, and we did the tasting menu. The dedication to local sustainability in farming for both the land and the farmer is impressive. Chef came out to say hello and you can feel the passion she has for her craft. The tasting menu starts off small, but don’t let that discourage you! You’ll be pleasantly stuffed by the end of the experience. They took into consideration my food allergies. It was a wonderful experience and we can’t wait to return and try other menu items.

Delicious, delicious food - I had the roasted peppers with cheese on wheat berry porridge made with duck giblets (ordered one to go it was so good). Excellent apple pie too. Will stop by when I’m in MSP again for sure.
Very warm staff and welcoming decor.

We had such a wonderful time at Myriel! The corn, bread and spaetzel were highlights, along with the dessert. For drinks, the NA Lavendar lemonade was delicious while my partner enjoyed their aperitif menu. The dessert was indulgent and nostalgic - the chef’s grandmother’s recipe for rhubarb pie from the 1950s reminded me of my own grandmother’s pies (which I haven’t had in decades), and the cream and berries surprised us by being flavorful and decadent.
The service was A+ - giving great guidance through the menu and fun background information about how the dishes are made (like the chef forages the berries for desserts which is why it can change from day to day).
Additionally, the cocktail menu is thoughtful and deliberate, including low proof options for drivers and NA options. This is also a great place for vegetarians eating with omnivores - delicious options for both, and we happily shared most of the dishes.
***many of the photos are after we’d taken a few bites because we simply couldn’t wait ?
