Tasty food! Happy to have some choices for Jamaican cuisine here in the Twin Cities Big Up all West Indian people.. We need to promote establishments such as this; we’ll definitely be making future trips.. I don’t mind the 45min ride to get some amazing Oxtail/ Rice and Peas… patties..& a cold Cola Champagne! Just saying.. would not mind some Soup? CowFoot? .. possibly Escovitch?… OMG that’s good eating!?? ??

I ordered through UberEats. I paid for priority so my food was nice and hot and my drink cold. I was pleasantly surprised by the flavors. The plantain was cooked to perfection. The cabbage was crunchy, and the rice & peas had a nice spice to it. I am disappointed that the “oxtail” was more like grissletail. 3/4 pieces had one bite of meat on the bones. The fourth piece had a decent amount of meat on the bone. Unfortunately, the grissletail weren’t fall off the bone tender either. Smh. The mango carrot juice I ordered is delicious. Oxtails are pricey no matter what, so you might as well get the good cuts and leave the rest alone. All in all I wouldn’t order again. I’m a huge oxtail fan and this was a huge bummer for me because I haven’t had oxtails in years.

All other reviews are lying or simply don't know how Jamaican food should taste. That food was absolutely disgusting, the oxtail were tuff as hell, not tender at all. It didn't even taste like Jamaican food, it had spice to it, and oily as hell, never in my 39 yrs have I tasted spice on my oxtail rice and peas when it's the real deal....no allspice flavor, pimento flavoring nothing, rice wasn't shelly and not even the right peas in the rice. I'm from Florida and we eat nothing but the best of all nationalities. I don't know who's in the kitchen but they need to go find Grandma recipes because this ain't it. I paid $26 for trash. Never again...I need to bring my sister from Jamaica to Minnesota and show you all how it's done, because this ain't it. I've noticed in MN think everything is good if it's different. Eeeeewwwwww Just horrible

The food was very good, and I'm extremely glad that they didn't tone down the flavors like some other Caribbean places in town. The goat was cooked wonderfully, almost falling off the bone and I could actually taste the Scotch bonnet.It's nice to have a Caribbean place near me, and I will definitely be going back, especially while the temperatures are still low.

Great personable greeting at the front register great beautiful people all around food was delicious! Great flavor on the rice ox tails tender nice harmony and balance pick 2 is the way to go for 25$ ox tails delicious could have been a little more tender trust me it plenty tender tho!! I really like crock pot tender tho I’m spoiled ?and the cabbage was greatly seasoned fresh crispy yet tender good vibes ? affordable and worth a travel if your on the other side of the city . Can’t wait to try goat and oxtails again yes I took oxtails home 2nd plate !! That tells you a lot great place very highly recommended O and plantain tastes like they were ripe and made fresh to order very great texture and sweet taste not bitter but calm enough not to over power the dish nice!!

So I criticized the bad reviews, and said to still give it a try. We walked in to this place for the first time and there were only 3 people in front of us. The guy (chef/owner) says there’s no more ox tail and the person in front of me says that’s what she came for cause her daughter is here from out of town. He proceeded to say okay I’ll make an exception for you RIGHT IN FRONT OF US. We were next in line and asked for ox tail as well and he said no more ox tail but the other food is good as well. I then said we came for the ox tail only nothing else. So I’ll keep my business at Pimento Kitchen who has GREAT OX TAIL AVAILABLE AT ALL TIMES AND THE SERVICE IS GREAT. Will not be returning to Nanny’s Jamaican Kitchen.

I was craving Jamaican food after returning from Cancun and eating Mexican food for four days. I wanted something different and going to Nanny’s for the first time was the best decision I made. Wonderful Pattie’s and I ordered the jerk chicken! This will be my Jamaican to go to spot in the twin cities going forward! I personally enjoyed their food better than other spots 10/10!
