There is something about this cute shop surrounded by locals and in the summers with their families. Personally, I can’t eat a child size- my boyfriend and I split but it is a quintessential experience and they have 2 vegan flavors.
Dietary restrictions: The vegan options are scooped with separate scoops and stored away from the other ice creams to prevent cross contamination. I love how they cater to their dairy free clientele.

Walked in off the street in hopes of finding a dairy free option other than sorbet. The young adults behind the counter told me they had 2 options and I chose the cookies and "cream". Let me tell you I am not disappointed at all in the least bit! Also the young lady informed me of your sister store nellys where you have even more options for dairy free options. I will definitely be checking y'all out and returning to Nelson's as well. As someone who is only recently in the last 6 months become lactose intolerant I have had an irritating time looking for ice cream shop style ice that was dairy free outside of sorbet. So thank you for having the options available that you do and actually makes me feel like im eating real ice cream again.

If you are in from out of town and are looking for ice cream that’ll knock your socks off…Nelson’s is it. I found this place on a whim and it exceeded my expectations. ICE CREAM, ICE CREAM, & more ICE CREAM. Let me tell you order a kids size and you’ll get generous scoops in your cup. (Enough for two people). The photos on the images tab do not lie. I was very surprised with the amount they give you on a sample spoon. The only thing that bugged me was it was a cash only establishment and the parking lot was very very small. Please try Nelson’s if in town (Snelling location).

This was my first time visit. Not a huge ice cream lover, but the choices of ice cream they serve is fun. Lots of options that you can split inside your cone or cup. The young workers were very friendly and gave quick service. Wait time for help wasn’t long at all.
Plenty of room outside to relax and enjoy your treat. Booths, umbrella tables with chairs and post up spots to stand around the shop. The inside is cute with tables and chairs also. Pretty clean inside this shop.
You definitely get your money worth of icecream! Don’t hesitate to get a kids scoop. The photo in this review is cinnamon double scoop. The bottom layer that’s not visible is banana. I will be back to get a kids scoop cinnamon cup.
