Skarda's is a great little dive bar located on West 7th in St. Paul. This is exactly the type of place that comes to mind when you say Minnesota dive bar. Bunch of old guys bellied up at the bar drinking domestic beers or whiskey. No kitchen but there is a vending machine as well as Heggies Pizza. Pool tables and darts to the side. I met with a friend for some drinks and had a nice time. The bartender was super friendly and engaged in our conversation. I ordered 3 drinks and my friend had 2. I picked up the tab for us both and all 5 drinks came to a manageable $19.75. WOW! I love a good cheap bar.

Really gross bar. I’ve seen fights happen and the bartender named James I think? Got his shoulder dislocated. I asked him just to make sure if he was ok and if I was talking to the right person, and he got really defensive and kicked me out the door. I was just being nice and it also smells really bad in there. If you go here, make sure you’re safe and shower afterwards. Bring a crew that you trust because you can’t trust people here.Worst bar ever.

They let the regulars get really drunk and then drive home. They sell cocaine out of the bar. The bartenders steal from the bar and mix strong drinks.

Love this place. It’s like a hidden gem of St Paul. Pool, darts and drinks, what else do you need ?

This is not a negative review, just my opinion on the overall experience I had/my observations of what kind of place it is :Kind of hole in the wall, old man bar vibes. It's more of a neighborhood regulars bar I think. No frills and that's fine. Just depends on what you're looking for. It's pretty small and they have the bar seating and then like card tables to sit at and whatever. They have one pinball machine and a smoking area outside. Our drinks came in larger plastic Dixie cups. Which is cool cuz I assume there was more liquor if the cups were that big. No parking lot. Open late, til 1 or 2am. Open later than most of the rest of the places. Affordable. Once again really nothing fancy. A lot of the people seemed like regulars. Bathrooms were clean. I'd go here again in a pinch.
