Just moved to the neighborhood and this place is incredible. The folks are super friendly and everything has been delicious. The first time we went, we sat in the dining room and they have a back room with a table of billardettes. It was super cool to see folks playing and learn how it works. My partner is Eritrean and the Awaze Tibbs and a veggie platter were a smash hit. Since then, we've had cheese steaks and espresso drinks. Both were delicious. They roast their own coffee beans and even sold us some. We are also looking forward to the upcoming Eritrean community events they have advertised. Only critique is the bathroom could use some love. It doubles as a storage closet/shower full of cleaning supplies.

I got the chicken wrap and it was the smallest little thing for $11!!!! I was so disaffected, the wrap isn’t even enough to fill me up! It’s honestly just a joke. Don’t come here!

On a whim dropped in and really loved their Philly steak and cheese sandwich served with fries and strong East African coffee. Was so good came back another day for the same and gradually began ordering more items from their modest menu, all excellently done.

Counter and table service available, tables and chairs are sturdy and adequate, few sofas also and a large screen tv. The decor is rather plain and the counter does not look promising, service is a bit slow but friendly, accurate, with a smile and they'll recognize and greet familiar faces. The quality of their food and drink however is redeeming and so good i cant have enough, can keep coming back here. It's such a refreshing treat to find high quality ethnic dishes at a reasonable price.

The operators are ethnic east african would be my guess, Eritrean or Ethiopian or in that region, friendly smiles, very welcoming and warm hearted, English speaking with a heavy accent, you should have no difficulty ordering. A selection of American style burgers, sandwiches and even meatballs and pasta available and an excellent Chai tea. The highlight for me is their range of meat and vegetable dishes served within a wrapper of injera, a famously delicious and nutritious soft, fluffy pancake-like bread.

My taste buds assure me only the most fresh ingredients, vegetables, spices and oils go into their pots, cooked and marinated in its juices over a low fire but cooked thoroughly and slowly to perfection. Beef, chicken and fish are typical meats here not pork. Highly recommended establishment and don't hesitate to strike up a conversation or make new friends

Parking: Small free parking lot available next to the cafe and on nearby streets

One of my Eritrean friends told me to go to this restaurant when we were talking about Eritrean culture. I’m glad that I listened to his advice because Snelling Cafe is the best African Restaurant that I’ve been too. The service is fast and the food portions are large. I love how the atmosphere feels extremely authentic and people are very kind.

The first time I came here I ordered shiro and foule. On my second visit I ordered Fatta and Eritrean Tea. I was very impressed both of the times that I came. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to try Eritrean cuisine.

First time eating here yesterday! I am Ethiopian and I can say their Awaze ribs is top tier. It was fresh wasn't oily and the amount you get for what you pay is superb! I will be coming here again! Thank you.

Good food and service for the value. Chicken wrap was excellent and the fries were fine. The Hot Chocolate took forever to cool down, but when it finally did, it was nice. Plenty of free parking. Lots of seating. Pregnant atmosphere and employees. No free wifi.

Had no idea what the place was. Expected a bacon n eggs diner. It’s an East African joint and quite good. The owner (Ah Fork? Is how he pronounced it) was a good dude. Got a chicken wrap sandwich thing. Super good. With fries it was $10!! I’ll be back.
