I don’t usually spend much time or money at airport bars, and this one isn’t much to look at. HOWEVER, if your layover has you at MSP International, DO YOURSELF A FAVOR! Sit down at this funky, bisected little family-operated bar/restaurant. The prices are low, the drinks are strong, and the staff… I’ll get back to them.
The food is affordable and elevated. This little place is punching way above its weight. As for the staff, I’ve never felt more cared for. Airport bartenders are not necessarily known for their interpersonal amiability; however, Lindsay, my server and bartender, was truly attentive to all my silly quips. She even suggested pairing my meal with tomato soup.
The tomato soup was fantastic, as was the cheese sandwich. But the real gem was the burrata salad. It featured very fresh arugula, freshly sliced cherry tomatoes, fire-roasted sweet peppers with balsamic glaze, and a fist-sized portion of the freshest mozzarella I’ve ever had in my life.
I don’t typically pull out my phone to review airport bars, but this place is really something else!

Wonderful cooked to order veggie omelet hash brown. Real eggs, real veggies, and fresh potatoes. Service was exceptional, offering great advice and a friendly face at a very early hour.

I found this to be a fantastic stop for an early breakfast. I ordered a croissant with bacon, and it was ready immediately. I ate it at the restaurant’s seating just across the way. I was surprised to find the sandwich square in shape and flattened, but while the appearance was odd, the taste was not. While a touch moist from the heat of the foil envelope, the croissant was buttery and pleasant, the egg inside hot and generously blanketed by gooey orange cheese. The bacon was thick and flavorful, not skimpy at all. While expensive at $13, this was definitely a better product than the usual fast food croissant sandwich. It was a good meal before a flight,

Don't waste your money for breakfast. Not worth $20 for bitter coffee and small breakfast croissant.

An unexpectedly excellent sandwich (ABC Club) and great place to sit at the counter, charge my phone, and enjoy a beer on a layover. Cheers!! The guy who took my order was so kind and friendly too!

Run, don’t walk! I frequent several times per month. Service is always top notch. I look forward to the airport to see Lindsay and arrive a little early to ensure I have time with her. Stop by and be sure to ask for Lindsay!

Honestly, it was a delicious sandwich. Obviously over priced, but what do you expect for the airport? Go to subway if you want to save $$.

I used to swear by Surdyks at Terminal 1, but ever since they moved to Terminal 2 it's a huge miss. Terrible service last time, yet I gave them another shot today. Since they stopped allowing full service at the bar, I followed the instructions on the signs and took a seat at the full service area across from the main counter. I waited 5 minutes, no one came. Other patrons were dining a few tables away, so I know it was open. Then 3 people came and huddled around the bar's POS system, a staff person came over, made their drinks, and left again. I was never glanced at, offered a menu, anything. I hope MSP cancels their contract.
The Surdyk’s sidebar staff are my favorite wait staff in town. Always friendly. Always attentive. I look forward to seeing them as much as the food and drink. A+!

This is the first negative review I've ever left, and I hate to do it, but I was shocked by my experience here, especially as a longtime Surdyk's customer in Minneapolis. The food was wildly overpriced (I think $16 for a mediocre sandwich and small coffee) and less than 2 minutes after I sat down, I was informed by a staff member that I had 5 minutes to eat and leave, despite a wide array of open seating. I mean, if I'm paying that much for 2 items, I would expect to be allowed to eat in peace, especially since business was slow.
