Went to get my takeout order the entire place was dark and black. Nobody came And I called their phone number, and the woman hung up on me. Really bizarreAlso, their cooking licenses on the walls are outdated. And I loved this place back in the day.I even raised my voice for someone to come to the front, and there were no lights on Could hear someone cooking in the back and they didn’t even come in to help me

THE BEST! Lamphai (maybe I'm spelling her name wrong) is the sweetest lady. She has run this restaurant on her own for 28 years and makes excellent food. She was so friendly and showed me all the herbs that she uses for her dishes. She piled my lunch buffet plate high with beef, chicken curry, pork, wontons, and rice, and checked in to make sure it wasn't too spicy and that I'd had enough rice. Stop by Taste of Thailand for great food and support this long running, woman-owned business!

Tried this place on a whim since it’s close and recent reviews were very good. I got the Special Spring Rolls, Cream Cheese Puffs, and Chicken Pad Thai with medium spice level. Everything was amazing with generous portions. The spring rolls were probably the best I’ve had in the cities and I loved the fresh mint in them. I usually don’t like cream cheese wontons so I had gotten the puffs for my partner. I tried one and proceeded to eat the whole order. They were sooo good with a perfect cream cheese to pastry ratio. I think they also had cinnamon or star anise in them that tasted amazing. Will definitely be a new regular.

We were excited to learn that the same lady who has been here for years, is still here! This is our favorite place for Thai food. Due to staffing issues, she is only doing take-out.Lobby is closed.Take Out hours are: 4-8pm Tuesday - Sundays. Call ahead and order!! She is usually there prepping after 2pm!She is hoping to do a lunch buffet this winter!Check out her menu: tasteofthailandselby.com…

Additional update belowOk wow. I've lived in the neighborhood for years and finally gave this spot a try. She did not disappoint. Before the pandemic, we had a spotty experience here and had not gone back. Then, we noticed she was still doing takeout and that some recent (glowing) google reviews had been published. I gave the owner/chef/FOH mgr a call and asked for the chicken wings, which she sadly did not have. She suggested I try the house special egg rolls and they were amazing. I also tried the home-grown holy basil and also the pad pak stir fries. They were incredible. Spicy, sweet, and complex. I eat a lot of Thai food, so I don't take this review lightly. Typically I go to On's or Thai Cafe and this spot potentially beats them out. Plus, all that for less than $50, which seemed especially reasonable. I'll def be back to try additional menu items.Update: went back last night and was able to try the spicy wings, as well as #38 and #44. All 3 were amazing - spicy, sweet and delicious. Plus all that for under $40! This is officially my new favorite Thai spot.

I live in California but whenever I visit my grandparents in Minnesota, I visit this place. It is the best Thai food I have ever had, and I've had Thai food in many states! The owner is incredible and does everything on her own. She answers the phones, cooks, cleans, and preps ON HER OWN! She is the only employee and she is absolutely brilliant. Her creations are incredible. She can make most dishes gluten free, vegetarian, or even vegan! I would eat anything she put in front of me. If you don't believe me, try this place for yourself. ♡

Her food is exceptionally good!! I ordered chicken pat thai and spring rolls for pickup. It was my first time to give it a try and I know that I will definitely order more than 100times from now haha The owner of the restaurant is so nice and kind. If you’d like to taste an authentic thai food, I recommend this restaurant.

This is our go to Thai food restaurant. The food is always fresh and we love the owners. She even grows fresh herbs for some of the dishes! It’s a hidden gem right on Selby Ave.

The absolute best Thai place in the Twin Cities. The owner basically runs the place herself because she has had some trouble staffing since COVID, so you have to call when you arrive to pick up your food inside and dine in is not an option, but don’t be scared away; it is completely worth it and then some. Unbelievable flavors, generous portions, great value and haven’t ever tasted a bad thing from this restaurant. Greatly recommend the pad thai, massaman curry, special egg roll and cream cheese wontons. Getting hungry just typing this.

Fabulous Thai food and the owner is an amazing person. I especially like the veggie/vegan options on many dishes.

This is my favorite restaurant in the twin cities! I used to live very close and was able to order more frequently. I live 40 min away now- I still make the trip just for their food.

This place is a hidden gem! Everything was freshly made and tasted homemade with love. The owner lady’s super sweet. She even put hot water at the bottom of plastic bag so food stays warm. The place only does takeout ever since Covid, so it’s perfect if you wanna grab a quick bite. We ordered beef larb salad and shrimp Tom yum soup. Will come support their business again:)
