From the glass block windows to the oldschool pizza oven in the corner, this small tavern should be on any extended list of Twin Cities area dive bars.In fact, you can make a pretty impressive bar crawl from the Polar Lounge. All along Seventh Avenue in North St Paul are bars, taverns and dives. From the VFW on one end, to the American Legion on the other end, there are more than half a dozen places to get a cold one all within a few blocks. Good luck and have fun in NSP!

Atm does not take paypal cards and the buttons stick!! Is this still America? The owner called the cops on my son and I because his ATM does not accept Bancorp Bank cards. Beware. He also serves drinks in coffee cups with soap chunks on them. Then gets angry if you ask for a clean cup. What is this country coming to?
Nothing frilly here. Looking for a $25 designer cocktail? Then the Polar Lounge is not the fit. Looking for a small lounge with that small town feel? Polar Lounge is the place for you. Prices are very reasonable, while the pours are very generous. The Polar Lounge comes with it's own unique cast of characters. After a couple visits you will be warmly welcomed by a group where everybody knows your name. Highly recommend...Cheers ?

Swung in here with a friend. The second we walked in everyone went dead silent and stared. Everyone was about twice our age and the vibe was off. The bartender charged us for $7.50 for tiny beers. We took it as a cue that we weren’t welcome, though no clue why.
