I came here for breakfast and ordered the Tex Mex. It was tasty and the portion size was large enough for my big appetite. We had some confusion with a coupon and the owner was understanding and helpful. I'd come back to Uptowner over a Denny's or an IHOP.

The Uptowner never misses and has become my weekend morning go-to since I live nearby. The servers are always friendly and attentive, service is always fast, the atmosphere is chill, and the food is always amazing (especially the Tex Mex!) If you're ever in the area, definitely stop by. It's absolutely worth it even when there is a wait.

After coming here for several years this restaurant has always been able to accommodate us. After our experience today, we were told we would be able to sit down in 30 minutes. No problem. Then multiple parties were continued to be seated ahead of us. After an hour of waiting, we were turned away. This place has really gone downhill. We had this same experience two weeks in a row, where they messed up which tables we could sit at. I understand that this is a small hole in the wall gritty restaurant, but the servers and staff were quite rude. They might as well find a job at McDonald’s.
