First time eating a Japanese Ramen bowl. You can go spicy or not, GF (or not), or customize your bowl. Residing in an old Pullman car with mostly tables for two (against the windows) or booths for four. One end of the car can accommodate a group of 6 or 8. The menu is limited but, then again, how many bowls do you need to choose from? Still water at the table. Cocktails and mocktails available.
I chose the Salted Duck bowl, which includes purple cabbage, soft boiled egg, vegetables and herbs. $22. Everything is pretty much made to order, so you can’t be in a rush. I waited probably 30 minutes. I think the duck takes longer than other bowls. I was pleasantly impressed once it came. A large bowl filled with noodles, duck strips, cabbage, soft boiled egg cut in half, vegetables and plenty of herbs. Very tasty! The wait staff of two could comfortably handle all the customers. The restaurant at 1 PM on Sunday after a snow storm was maybe a third full. I’m sure at other times it fills up. They are closed from 2-4 each day, which I found a little odd. But a few of us didn’t get our food until 1:45 and there was no attempt to rush us out. I left around 2:30. I highly recommend!

Excellent Ramen. Some of the best I've ever had. Really rich and complex flavors and the quality of the noodles was great. Nice service. The atmosphere was unique in an old train car. Cozy on a snowy night. Vegan and vegetarian options are nice.

We came here because we heard this was the best ramen in the Twin Cities, and it lived up to the hype! You know it's quality ramen when one of the best parts is the broth. Both dishes we tried were great and very different. Highly recommend the Korean duck ramen!

Ordered the shoyu ramen. Any decent ramen place is going to have a solid shoyu, miso, shio, and tonkotsu ramen. It was just alright. Mine had steamed sliced carrots that were cold on the edges which was kind weird. I did finish the bowl though. I know most people don’t know shit about nihonshu but listing the names in English tells me nothing about it. Is it dry? Sweet? Which part of Japan is it from? We ordered a 12 ounce bottle that cost $26. Diabolical.
The server came around way too often when it looked like we had made it through our meal making it seem like they wanted us to get the hell out of there lol. Btw you need the deep soup spoons for tasting the broth.

Used to love the Bali, idk if I got a bad batch or if they changed the recipe since I've been there last. Couldn't finish it

Came at the end of lunch rush on Sunday. The place is insanely cozy and warm. We sat in plush chairs and enjoyed the ambience! Our server was kind and patient as we looked over the menu. I chose the salted duck ramen. I was a tad hesitant as this would be my first time trying duck but they threw it out of the park. The broth was both rich and bright with citrus and herbs and the use of dill helped elevate the duck. The noodles were perfectly chewy and offered a nice bounce.
For a quality bowl of ramen I didn't think 22$ was that crazy to ask. Additionally they have a slight fee for using card so in the future I will be bringing cash.
This place is ideal for smaller groups, I didn't tour the entire place but it didn't appear to have a huge seating section.

Ya man I've been to just about every Ramen spot in the twin cities and greater MN this spot is great. They have mild chicken flavors and melt your face hot (Fire shoyu). Atmosphere is a 10, service was on point. Haters will say the wait is too long but this is made on order so be patient lil gremlin.

what a treasure of a ramen place. a converted street car. they have a large summer patio, beautiful interior. plenty of plants in beautiful shape. has a classy airy relaxing atmosphere. Their custom cocktails are spectacular. the menu is compact but delicious. the cucumbers which is their specialty appetizer are fantastic and a great way to start the meal. Beware you are at risk of becoming a regular

Can be a bit of a wait for a table and their phone number seems to go to a full inbox so it’s hard to make a reservation, but it’s well worth it! Super cute and cozy environment, especially in the old train car! The menu is pretty small, few or no appetizers and mostly ramen, but they do ramen so well! They do t cut corners with amazing noodles, both halves of the egg etc. I definitely recommend for parties of 2-4!

We had a group of 5 at Tori Ramen this past weekend. It was awesome. I was able to email the restaurant to make sure they had room for us - and I also walked in because I live nearby. They were very accommodating for my group and we all loved our food. One in our party is gluten free and she said her GF noodles were great - unlike some GF noodles that can get soggy. We had amazing cocktails - really great creativity and variety. I had the salted duck ramen - super tender and delicious. We will be back. It is clear that the chef is talented and that they take their craft seriously. And the train car is just charming, of course.

On October 19 I ordered 3 meals online from here for pick up. I arrived in the predicted time frame, and they seemed to not know about the order so that happens and that I told them I could come back. When I did come back, I had to continue to wait. When we finally got home with our food one order was completely wrong and that person was not able to eat. We ordered a meal gluten free and vegan , and it came with meat, egg, and non-gluten free noodles.

It's very cutesy, feeling cozy. Will recommend not ordering the fire shoyu for empty stomach! I was expecting 'japanese food spicy' level, but it's more like 'korean spicy'. Don't mess with it like i did-(don't get me wrong, it was very yummy)

I tried Tori Ramen for the first time with my partner and was incredibly excited because of all the good reviews. The food itself was good, the ramen is definitely not like your typical ramen and there's a lot of interesting twists on it. However, this will be the last time I'm coming to Tori Ramen due to the service we received. Firstly, I immediately noticed that my partner and I (we are a Black and Asian couple) were put into the darkest corner of the restaurant and away from others. I brushed it off initially as just how they seated people. As the meal went on, we got attended to a total of 3 times. Once to ask about our drinks, once to ask about our food, and once for the check. We ordered an appetizer that never came and we waited awhile for our ramen. I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt that it was an off day. For context, for the whole meal, my back was turned from the rest of the restaurant. Once we got up to leave, I realized that on the bright side of the restaurant where the windows shined through, the restaurant was full of customers and servers. All of the customers on that side were white or the few BIPOC there were accompanied by white people. This behavior is appalling and it is clear what the culture is like at this restaurant and I would not recommend this spot to anyone.

There's a reason why chicken ramen doesn't really exist in Japan and it's because Japanese ramen noodles don't work well with chicken stock.

The food was soooo good. Service was pretty good as well
I can’t remember all that we ordered. One item was a vegan special they had going at the time which was good. I know we ordered the cucumber appetizer and it was so good (I was worried about it being spicy but it was the perfect level of spice). We ordered the cold noodles which were good but it our favorite. And then we both ordered the same ramen, I think it was Korean, and that was great as well
It was a little odd because we had one server and then someone else would come over and they seemed to be our server as well. They would even come over one right after the other and ask us the same question (one came over and we said we may order another drink and sit for a bit and then the other came over after and gave us the bill). It was odd
