Nice expanded menu, love that it's women owned, but the acoustics in here are a nightmare for anyone with any level of sensory issues. I'm here on a Thursday after work and I cannot hear the person next to me. Very unpleasant. I hope they invest in some acoustic tiles soon!Reply to UG team: Thanks for the reply! I understand that it's an old building with high ceilings, but I don't have this issue for example, at St. Paul Brewing (high ceilings, old building, just as busy as UG on any given night, but they have lots of soft furniture to dampen the noise, so I have happily sat right at the bustling bar without my ears ringing like a bell). I understand if soft furniture isn't your vibe, but any amount of soft furnishings, draperies, or acoustic tiles, really anything soft would help dampen the noise! If fabric and soft things aren't your vibe, they make acoustic panels that are matte black and unobtrusive - I've seen them in other breweries like yours. Furnishings make a world of difference in how sound bounces around! It really is an equity issue as many neurodivergent folks have sensory issues. But really, all your customers will thank you for investing in their experience, comfort, and well-being, and your staff will have less wear and tear on their ear drums (UMN safety training says that if you can't hear yourself snap an arms length away, you need hearing protection to avoid hearing loss). Thanks for considering!

The brewery has a nice outdoor space. The food was good. The beers we tried were interesting. The people who worked there were friendly and engaging.

First time visit. Last time visit. Got sat after a wait in the back room. Fold out table with two chairs. Had the fish fry. Was excited about it being Walleye. Thin, overcooked, dry with little flavor. I had the bear. More bread than filling. Very little garnishment. Best thing they have is the beer. That was the best part of the whole experience.

Urban Growler did not disappoint. We were there for a paint your pet fundraiser and were upstairs in the event space. The staff was very nice, taking food and beverage requests for the group and delivering them upstairs. I appreciated the time one of the employees took to answer my many questions about the beer and seltzer options. I chose the Growling Mule, which was delicious. The space was welcoming, bathroom was clean, with the biggest win being the option of food at the brewery. I posted multiple pictures of the outside space and of The Barrel Room. We enjoyed our first visit and will plan on returning soon!

Friday fish fry was fabulous. I also recommend the creme Brule for desert, not to mention their great beers and seltzer.

Went for the Friday fish dinner. The good was good. Large serving. I had a couple of their 'cocktails' and didn't feel they were worth the money. The Mule was tasty but lacking

I can't say enough about this place! We went here for a small get-together for a friend's birthday last night and thoroughly enjoyed it! The place has a great vibe to it. It is a very "inclusive" place for families, groups, couples or singles and there is such a wide variety of beers, non-alcoholic drinks, seltzers, ....The service was great and the food delicious (we had the tasty "Wisconsin fish-fry") with very generous serving sizes. I understand they have events there, too (e.g., cornhole competition on March 24). We definitely will be back!

Great Friday night fish fry!!. I'm going back next Friday.

Good beer, food, & service! The nachos were a bit plain so I would recommend ordering a protein with it.

Urban Growler is a really nice brewery tucked away in a neighborhood in St. Paul. We were looking for a fish fry and we found a good one. A “Wisconsin Style” fish fry every Friday night. The beer was good, I had their Midwest IPA and my wife a cream ale. And there was plenty of fish including a side of cole slaw, tator tots, fries or chips. The owner came over and introduced herself and asked how everything was and offered me another piece of fish which was so nice. I’ll be back.

What a smashing place! It was my first time here and I'm bummed I haven't been before! The taproom is lovely, they do beer and seltzer cocktails, they have a room of merch and the food is delicious.Seriously, those house made chips are amazing! If they sold individual bags I would have stocked UP! The hummus has good flavor, too, though I typically like a smoother blend, but the veggies were beautifully crisp and the pita was pillowy. The beers were also excellent. I especially liked the Minnie Row Pils.

The amount of gratitude my wife and I have for this space, cannot be contained. We’ve been here for the Indigo Girls cover band, and we’re looking forward to the queer book fair and all the other queer events! They also have an awesome beer and food selection!
