“The pub started serving this Tuesday at 11:00 a.m., which is literally when my wife and I walked in, so there were so few of us that it was hard to judge the atmosphere with no crowd. It is a large, dark wooded room, and we sat in a booth, and the center is filled with high tops, and then arrays of dining tables and a really long bar.
I love red ales, and when I see one on the menu I will order it, but I have routinely been disappointed; I had a Patrick's Red Ale on tap, and it was the best I've ever had. So I had a great start to our meal. We both had the soup du jour, which had a creamy base, without being heavy or salty, and it was a bit smoky without any chunks of sausage; it had touches of greens and herbs, but I can't say I was playing close attention. If you come to eat do always ask what the daily soup special is, because it is clearly something to which the chef has devoted care and thought. My wife had a bowl, along with roasted Brussels sprouts for her meal.

I had the pastrami sandwich on a pretzel roll, and it, the roll, and the pastrami were all wonderful: it was a five-star sandwich and took half of it home for dinner. As we were finishing up, the lunch crowd started coming in, filling in the high tops. There are HUGE screens all around on the walls near the bar. I could make out the Pat McAffee show discussing the Brewers win from out booth.

The pub is ten years old, and though we have not logged a lot of visits over the years, I do believe that the food has become much better. Our kids live nearby, so we will be back. You should definitely put O'Brien's on your list to visit. Parking behind the restaurant is ample“
