burger was really good and the pasta was tasty. wings are insanely overpriced.
Went there for Mother’s Day dinner I think everything we had was left over from brunch. Ribeye was thin n dry medallions were dry and spaghetti n meatballs were definitely leftovers. Went for happy hour before n had steak bites and they were fabulous!!! Definitely not a place to go for Mother’s Day dinner!! Maybe brunch but mother and wife definitely have no desire to go back
Our friends took us to this (new to all of us) restaurant at 6:30 on a Friday. Clean and modern (and busy) atmosphere - fireplaces were a nice ambiance. Parking lot was full - had to use the street to park. The food choices were many - we settled on a few fish and chips, a whiskey burger and a steak. Fish and chips were disappointing - the fries were not hot on either plate and the fish coating was not crisp. The fish were edible, but not delicious. The burger, that was to be medium rare, came not even pink. The tots were the best thing on the plate - very tasty. The steak didn't look appealing - but we didn't hear any complaints. The place cleared out and quieted down towards the end of our meal - it is a loud atmosphere when full. None of us felt that sending food back would benefit us, nor did we want to make a scene. We will express our feelings by not going back.

Wish I could give this place a better review because the food was good but the service especially the waitress we had had a lot of attitude more than gratitude
Over priced and small portions on the fish fry… coleslaw came out in a small cup the size that dressing for salad comes in.. Unfriendly service… manager didn’t seem to care about complaints. Will not return.
Im sad to say I’m extremely disappointed with our experience here and I’m not one to ever leave a bad review. My boyfriend and I went for dinner, drinks were great but the appetizers and dinner could have been better. I asked for something they forgot with our order for our appetizer that they never came back with… Then they come to bring us our dinner and the steak was undercooked then when they brought the steak back they still forget the sides we were already waiting on for 45 min. I would love to give this place a 2nd chance but feel like we need some sort of refund/discount the next time to make up for our experience. Staff seemed stressed with the cooks in back so we didn’t say anything.

Food was ok, service was pretty good, atmosphere was nice with the exception of the noise. It was noisy to the point of not being able to hold loud conversations with the rest of our party at a small table. The Cuban sandwich was nothing special. The BLT was "good". The other 2 in our party didn't really have an opinion, which says enough.

My girlfriend ordered the filet and shrimp, the shrimp where amazing, the steak was cooked perfectly, however it was tough and gristley. A proper filet should not have these textures.
I ordered the bone in ribeye, and it was also tough. It was only a touch over cooked which is fine. Sadly all the sides where better than the steaks.
Our potato skins also only had a very very light sprinkle of cheese on them. Other that that they had alot of potential, we even asked for more cheese and got basically nothing. It was wild

Atmosphere was great. This was my 3rd time at just sitting at the bar. The Service at the bar was horrendous. Took 15 minutes to get first beer. Pull tab person handed me a menu (doesn't work there). If the owner need to know time frame it was about 3pmish and the restaurant was not busy. Never saw the first bar tender again after that one beer I ordered - about 6 people at the bar. Shift change- got my second beer but never asked if I wanted to order even though I have a menu in front of me. .... . 25 minutes later I have already decided even with happy hour prices....I do not need to order - just got the third beer ... wow when that 3rd beer was empty how fast I got that tab when I asked .... SERVICE IS OVER ALL BAD AT THE BAR get a table....the waitresses are great!

This place was recommended by a coworker of my step-father's and so I made a reservation online through their website so as to get a table reserved for my mother's birthday. First issue came up right away, their system and/or host (male who looked sort of like a human version of Miss Piggy the Muppet) was either lacking the training or simply couldn't find our reservation.
Regardless, he agreed to seat us (party of 3), first at a table in the bar area which was not preferred by my mother, the birthday gal. So we requested a different table. The host begrudgingly and irritatedly sighed, and seated us elsewhere.
When I got up to use the bathroom after waiting several minutes for our server to greet us, I asked the host where the restrooms were. The GM stated "you're almost there," while the host just pointed and said "yeah, over there." Then, when he thought I wasn't in ear-shot, he said "she's clearly not a server." He would be right. I'm a licensed marriage and family therapist and clinical psychologist, not to mention a small business owner and CEO of my own virtual healthcare company.
Let's move on to the food, shall we? Well, yikes. I ordered a whiskey steak skewer, just one which was $27 or $28, done rare and a virgin pineapple mojito or something like that. The mocktail took them 15 minutes to make for some reason even though it was soda water and pineapple juice and lime. The skewer which was about 2 oz of meat came out overdone; like, very well done; no pink, no red, no blood. After waiting for over 30 minutes for our food, I was disappointed to say the least. My feedback to the GM ended up being 'this cow died for naught.' And I was quite literally starving. My mother's fish and chips, per her feedback, were mediocre at best and very little fish was on her plate, especially consider how overwhelmed her plate was with fries. My step-father's burger was done to perfection, however, it literally made him sick to his stomach within 10 minutes of eating it. Upon making my complaint, our server became seemingly annoyed and told the manager to "talk to her." Manager came out, was very gracious and offered to have it remade on the fly. The second-try skewer was more in ounces but still overdone. I filled up on kale and called it a day. I made another complaint which the server was even more annoyed by and then continued to 'talk shade' about it with the table behind us. (In the server's defense, the table behind us was a 4 top with larger sized humans that were very clearly local per their Twin Cities attire; btw, I'm from Saint Paul but long ago to live my best life elsewhere). My feedback to the GM was to coach his chef in pulling the meat off the broiler/grill well before and let it rest. Rare small cuts of filet or strip need only be seared and cooked for about 2 minutes. Otherwise, this cow died for nothing. He agreed. The table behind continued to throw shade until I got up and set on the other side of our table and gave them a glare and then a smile.
There was a banquet room nearby and the serving staff were spending most of their time tending to that. We waited close to 30 minutes for our check. The server tried to make nice with us but I'm afraid our experience was already quite the disaster. My mother was very disappointed, and needless to say, won't be back. I can see this place has potential with the very large outdoor patio but I won't bother driving all the way down to South Saint Paul from northern metro TC to be disappointed again. The mocktails at The Alchemist and their sister bars in White Bear Lake are far better. Best wishes, Stockyard. And please work on your manners, serving and hosting staff. I'm always listening, have 20+ years worth of friends in the Twin Cities metro area and over a decade combined of living in Los Angeles and NYS. I won't be recommending your cute lil spot to them unles

Parking: Would have liked to be offered the specials menu. When leaving i saw so.eone eating seafood and then saw a operate menu sitting at the host stand. Should have been right on the table incase they forget to offer or guests arrive at different times. These items were not available ala cart or even as main dishes on the full menu. Truely served as a specialty for that nights dinner hours only

Reserved the private dining room for party of 23. Food was cooked perfectly to order, drinks were really good, not watered down or too strong. Attentive, helpful, friendly staff. Cost was much less than other places we checked. Will definitely go there again. Everyone in the party remarked about how good the food and service was.
Solid all around.
