I came to Steele & Hops for lunch with my little sister after she requested we check it out. I was very impressed by the staff, their service and attention to detail. My little sister has a peanut allergy and the staff, including our waitress and the chef, handled it with the upmost care. They ensured no cross contamination, delivered food separately and made us feel so cared for. The food quality is high, presentation is beautiful. All around it was a lovely experience and I highly recommend this place!!

Great drink menu, great food menu, and great for kids. One of the few restaurants where the kids mac and cheese isn't the box stuff (theirs is really good too). Great patio too.

We’ve eaten here a handful of times. The food is pretty good, with nice portion size. The service has been so slow every time, even when it’s been fairly empty. The last time it was pretty empty and we still waited quite awhile to be greeted by our waitress and get drinks, then our appetizers came minutes before all of our food, even though we waited a while for the food. The food was good but not enough to be a place we’ll come to again. Parking can be a challenge when they are busy but it’s free and easy to get to when they’re not busy.

I usually love this place. But the last few times has been even sub-par. Few months ago, got the famous goat cheese toast (maybe not famous but it is to me) it was TERRIBLE, worse toast I’ve had which I was surprised. I always get the tuna poke bowl.. NEVER AGAIN. I bit into a tuna piece, frozen. 4 Jalapeños and I think a 5-year-old cut these onions… I ate barely any of this. No rice or sauce… Not to mention the dynamite bowl, calls for a sauce on it.. didn’t get any type of sauce.. Total was around $250 for all food, 3 people’s food which no one ate and a beverage each… Casual restaurant, pay quite a bit for a casual ‘tavern’ style place… I love the food you guys usually prepare, the staff, environment, etc.. but.. this night and the past few other nights was bad…

These photos are examples of two whole corners loaded with jalapeños and onions of this tuna bowl…

Response to Response - was well aware of the 23% surcharge, hard to pay mandatory $50 tip for mediocre at best food. Food was hit and miss. Burnt tip apetizer was great, most meals in the large group were decent but not great, I had a brisket sandwich that was not good, very dry and tough meat. Kids macaroni and cheese was a large serving of cardboard. I had a fancy craft cocktail and you would think they forgot the vodka. Worst part then is the mandatory 20% tip and a 3% fee on top of that. Will never go back, not a good value.
