I went here for a birthday get together and it was really fun. It's got a great 1920s atmosphere. There's a mix of traditional table seating, bar seating, and lounge chair seating. I was there on a Saturday and they had a great two person jazz group playing music. The food was absolutely incredible & the mocktails were very good. This is a great place.
On a beautiful day, we decided to make a stop for cocktails at The Velveteen. Upon arriving, we entered the door and descended dimly lit stairs, then passed through a stone hallway to reach the entrance. The wait at the table was longer than we anticipated but luckily for us, there were some bar seats available. The bartender at the moment was Cameron. He gave us the rundown on the food and drinks and made several recommendations.

Hands down the BEST speakeasy in Minnesota. I’ve never personally requested the names of the bartenders, but they all should be recognized by the state for their phenomenal service. I have never ordered a drink I didn’t either absolutely love or couldn’t finish. The atmosphere is sophisticated, classy, and elegant. They have a select menu for snacks and apps, and from the choices I’ve picked have always been delightfully delicious and wonderful! The staff is always incredible...
