BJ's Bar, Grill and Kampground

Fun place to go! We went with family for the Meat Raffle and had a blast!

We stayed here over a weekend since it was recommended by someone we know who has a seasonal site there. The pool was kept relatively clean and the kids enjoyed, but the fishing ponds were nothing like their pictures. It was hard to find a spot to cast into without pulling back 10 lbs of seaweed. The owner was extremely rude, and even drove thru our campsite multiple times on her golf cart like we weren't even there. And it wasn't just her, other people continued to just walk thru like our site was a walking path, including the owners daughter. We eventually put our truck in the way and started asking people to please walk around. Our breaker box kept tripping and all we had running was one AC Unit and the frige, and we were suppose to be hooked to 30 amp. I'm thinking their sites are only 20 amp, but advertised differently. Now I'm hearing people who have seasonal sites furthest from the bar are having trouble getting any power to their campers, so obviously this campgrounds electrical grid isn't up to par. I'm also hearing this campground is for sale, but not the bar, which tells me the campground is losing money and the owner doesn't want to put any money or effort into it. My suggestion, find another campground, this one's going under fast.

The female owner needs to learn some customer service. We went there to see a campsite and were told to show up after 4, not at 4, and we showed up at about 430. The owner comes out of her office and immediately starts scolding us in front of everyone at the bar that we were supposed to be there at 4 and we were late and now had to rush through everything because she needed to be back at 5. We go to follow her and she says “wow you have a lot of kids” in a disgusted tone. My husband asked her if the kids were a problem and she quickly tried to turn it around with a smile saying oh no I had 5 of my own. We (stupidly) proceed to follow her in our vehicle and I stayed in the car with the kids (since they appeared to be an issue) while my husband spoke to her about everything for the campsite. Definitely did not get good vibes from this woman at all and will happily go somewhere else. Maybe we caught her on a bad day but as the daughter of a business owner (who works at them as well) I know you don’t treat customers like that especially when they hadn’t even said or done anything that could warrant such rude treatment.

Food is always amazing!!! Shawn is spicy but wouldn’t have her any other way!! She’s a great asset to BJs. Ty had the shrimp Alfredo and It said it was spot on.. burgers are huge and juicy, and Ed had the beef tip skillet and thought it was great as well… 5 stars always!!!! Mark was cooking and always is great!!
