Up at Thief River Falls for a veteranās event. Went to the Casino to get a room and a couple from Canada recommended this place. Not gonna lie, I was a bit skeptical thinking what the heck is our neighbors from the north going to know about BBQ lol. HOLY SMOKES were they right! The food here is fantastic! Met one of the owners, Priscilla and what a sweet lady and she mentioned that they also offer a military discount! Will definitely be eating here again!!!
They haven't gotten 1 take out order correct since I've ordered there. My take out orders are always missing something. Stingy on the meat and expensive for what you get.

Terrible. Server was nice. Food was awful. Burger was burnt on the outside & red in the middle, bun was burnt. Steak bites stunk & were rotten. Awful food.

Basically this is one of THE WORST meals I've had in a long time. When you're spending 30$ on a meal and side they should put a little more care into the order. They didn't include the sauce for my sandwich or tater barrels. Tater barrels are way over salted. Just disappointing, I had much higher expectations.
I'll just go buy some sauce later and try to reheat.
A lot of the meat was dry.. the Mac and cheese had a funky taste...price was high for what you got

Iāve eaten from here twice now. The first time was dine-in with a friend, a little after theyād first opened. That experience was Not great at all, and I almost wrote them off Completely as a result! The issues encountered were many, and included: the fact that seating yourself wasnāt displayed on a sign in the entry, so as to understand why no one was acknowledging us standing, waiting to be helped, for awhile; service was Terribly slow, in the sense that it took Forever for the wait staff to come take our order, or to periodically come check on our tableā¦And our server seemed to keep changing; it took an Outrageous amount of time for the food to Finally come out (like maybe 1.5 Hours!!!); and, as weād come in the evening, by that time, a large assortment of the main entrees that weād desired to order were sold out for the day (like ribs and pulled pork sandwiches), smh!
BUT, The Piggy BBQ has Certainly redeemed itself since then, in my eyes!!! I now instead order from there via DoorDash, and also make it a point to order earlier in the day, instead of waiting till evening. As a result, my experience has been Excellent ever since! Plus, their prices in DoorDash are extremely competitive, too!
l've LOVED most everything that I've gotten so far! My faves include the: sweet and spongy cornbread (with actual corn in it), baked beans (with pulled pork in it), pulled pork sandwiches/sliders, the Incredibly tender ribs with meat Literally falling off the bone, the coleslaw, the salads and side salads, the unique and delicious key lime pie, and their BBQ sauce! And Iāve heard that the āhopper poppersā and ājumbo tater barrelsā appetizers are Must-Tries, as well! And lastly, I also really appreciate that they offer more unique soda options (like grape soda, ginger ale, and Celsius energy drinks), as compared to the typical soda selection offered at the vast majority of TRF restaurants. Howeverā¦I donāt care for their macaroni and cheese At All!! It tastes like it uses a combination of pimento cheese and pepper jack cheese, smh.
