Great beer. Fun place. The patio is right on the river with a beautiful view.

I came here after dinner with some coworkers for a drink and it was the perfect hang out spot. They seemed to have a ton of different beers. I ended up getting a sour-ish beer and it was great! It's a small brewery space but it felt very warm and inviting. I loved their wall of merchandise I ended up getting a hoodie to take back with me to California. Because I came in the winter I didn't get to go on their back patio, which I heard has an amazing view of the river (hence the name) River and Rails. I hope to come back when it's warmer to enjoy a new beer with a great view.

Enjoyed the beer and community. Objectively, the beer was better than I expected. Any brewpub can provide a couple of overly hopped IPA’s. Brewing something more nuanced is challenging. I was a home brewer for close to a decade in the early 1980’s, and brewed a range of beers. The citra-hopped, piney Cascade brews are just so boring. If you’ve had one, you’ve had them all.Rivers and Rails offers some very creative beers. Golden Emberz Golden Ale is a great example. Made with 95% locally sourced ingredients. “Hallertau tradition” hops. Very cool. Then there’s the Night Owl Pilsner, made with a Pilsner Malt and my favorite Saaz hops - ingredients you don’t find in every local brewery.Plus, the people are friendly and the sense of community obvious. It’s family-friendly, with offerings beyond beer.Check it out!

What a day, a misplay on our driving plans turned us “hangry”. The google map chick stuck it to us. We told her we weren’t mad, just disappointed. She didn’t care. Lol.No matter, Rivers and Rails was our stop. Just later than planned.Nice curb appeal as we parked. Old buildings recycled into breweries is wonderful. In we went, a nice greeting, thank you for that. Inside is a great space, but then we saw it. The back deck, riverside, view of the river!! Brewery with a view of the river, cmon. Heck that’s worth a stop, but better with a beer. Right?Beer, we went golden ale and night owl Pilsner. There were great choices, they just introd a Flanders red ale, a pretty cool brew. With hours to drive, had to limit the quaff. Both were very good drinks. They normally do food trucks, but a local event prevented that today. No issue pizza.Being hangry, I went cheese pizza and cheese bites. Yeah, over ordered, lol, one would have sufficed. But we managed. They were good, no issues.I’ve got to add, we make stops around breweries, yup. They are important to communities. Look at this, rehabbed an old building, using a great view. People are chilling with a beer, it’s perfect.IVE GOT TO ADD!! We left a personal item behind, wife’s favorite jacket. I reached out on line, they had it, and it went into the mail. It was in our mailbox long before we got home!!! So nice!! Great people, stop in, enjoy the atmosphere, the beer, tasty pizza, and nice people.

Love this place! Big city feel in a smaller city. Good selection of beers with a variety of styles. I wish they had a bigger food menu but we loved the pizza and cheese bread. They were playing trivia the night we stopped by and we're very welcoming to us joining in even though the game had already started. The location overlooking the river is fantastic, especially from the outdoor patio. If you are in Thief River Falls or the area, you must stop!

Love going to this place!!!! First of all, it’s family friendly and their staff is always great. They’ve got it all, lots of games for the entire family to enjoy and socialize together or with friends. Open mic is always fun and enjoyable with comedians or live music and their outside patio is amazing! Grab one of the pizzas they offer (papa murphys) and one of their brewed beers or a flight and that’s even better.Summer time or anytime with good weather, the patio is exactly where you want to spend your evenings at or anytime of day really!!Also, they always allow for different food trucks to come and park out front and showcase their food so that’s always a good option.

Glad I waited for them to open instead of just continuing to through the state. I had an amazing experience, great beer and stellar local pizza (Papa Murphy’s). Hope to stop again soon!

Sampled two very good beers, a trippel and a sour (orange). Both very good. Took home a growler of the sour.
