Do NOT pass this one up! I love 'bar food'. This is of the best that I've had. My wife had the whitefish and she raved about it. I had a French dip and the beef was melt-in-your-mouth tender.

The food was great! No actual waitress, just the bartender. A person from the kitchen brought our food, but no silverware or napkins. We had to flag somebody from the kitchen, and all we got was plastic to-go utensils. And we weren't even asked if we needed anything else.

Had a herring dinner last Friday. Pretty disappointed in the food I got for $16.
Owner mentioned pre covid. Made me chuckle. 1 fillet of herring is just a tease.
The food quality was good.

Stopped for food and a beer. OK selection of local craft beer. Only open Thursday to Saturday, noon to 8:00. Hope to come back and try the fresh fish and will update my review when I do..

While riding back down the north shore, I saw this place with its big deck to eat out on, so I pulled over for a quick bite.
It wasn’t busy. There were two tables being used other than mine, but I couldn’t get the waiter to look at me. Finally, a man at another table pointed me out and told him I might need a menu.

I ride a lot, so I eat out a lot and at a lot of different places, often in the Twin Cities and Duluth areas
- this place is way over priced.
I ordered a basket of onion rings for $10.99. I got ten onion rings (I actually counted as it was kind of funny). They charge over a dollar an onion ring - at a bar/restaurant.

I ordered two sides of blue cheese dressing for dipping. I got one. I let that pass. No big deal.
But the rings didn’t come with a napkin. I had to ask for a napkin. And salt - I had to ask for that. And a second glass of water - I somehow managed to finally get the waiter’s attention and ask for that too.

On the plus side:
The onion rings were good and the waiter, when I was finally able to get his attention, was very nice.

Before this place, I’ve only left a single one star review. I hadn’t planned on doing so here (the rings were good and the server was nice), but after reading their defensive, chippy little responses to negative reviews, one star it is.

We truly felt like part of the family while dinning at the restaurant today. We met both of the owners and we could see and hear how important this place was to them. The menu had good choices for all of us. The service the great and so we the taste of the food. We over head them wishing another couple at another table a happy anniversary.. So sweet. Prices were good and is is a great place to stop for meal while traveling. We also had a chance to see the rooms and they are clean and good sized. We plan to stay in our trip back.

Nearby activities: Minutes from everything. They gave us lotss of ideas for things we can do while in town

This is a great place to enjoy a drink or eat a nice meal. Very cozy inside. The staff was wonderful and the owners came out to see if we enjoyed our meal. They even let our kids grab a toy and gave them coloring books. This will be a stop for us every time we visit MN.

Rooms: Well sized room. Everything is very clean

Nearby activities: Gooseberry fall is nearby as well as 2 light houses and the harbor

Safety: Nice are. Right off the main road but set back.

Walkability: Just down the road from lake. Beautiful area

Friendly service,great food ,unfortunately understaffed or they might be open more days a week.

Great local spot, the staff are always friendly and we love the food. Perfect place to come as you are and have a nice meal.

This was such a great spot. Unassuming bar atmosphere, but the server was wonderful. The place went out of its way to delight our kids. Special coloring books, serves food on firetruck, and chocolate sundae at the end. Plus the food was great!
