As my past trips here, the wait staff is great! Answer all the questions of the first timers. Food quality and quantity are 5 star. Scratch made everything. Walleye Benedict has hand patted Walleye and zero fillers in it. The Wild Rice Porage w/cranberries is amazing. It's homemade, silky, decadent, just the right amount of sweet and tart. Their has is also house made, not overly salty, tender made to order and not canned. Always a treat to stop. Definitely worth tge trip just to try if you've never been.

The breakfast menu has a great mix of regional specialty items and traditional items. The Norwegian crepes were delicious, as was the wild rice porridge. We'll definitely be back next time we're in the area!

We spent a week in Two Harbors in late October 2025. After perusing the menu for breakfast at the Vanilla Bean on line, we decided to start here for our first brekkie in town. Long story short….we ate there every day. The staff are warm and welcoming. The food was amazing. We worked our way through the menu and everything was so good. You cannot miss their jelly they serve with many of the meals. (Wish I’d bought some to bring home.). We are early birds and the Bean opens promptly at 7, so that’s a bonus for our fellow early risers. The staff, especially Rose and Shelby, were cheerful each time we were there. Rose gave us helpful suggestions on nearby State Parks to visit. Shelby was a bit of sunshine on the chilly mornings. We never had lunch there, but I’m SURE it would also be delicious.

The Vanilla Bean Cafe in Two Harbors was a delight and exactly what my husband and I were looking for in a fun breakfast experience. The wait staff was attentive and the chef obviously took pride in the food he made - bringing the food out and talking to customers. The coffee was delicious and there were plenty of choices for an early day meal - breakfast or lunch.
Interesting menu with a lot of specialties. I really wanted to try wild rice porridge with Minnesota maple syrup. But had the portage omelette with wild rice and also tried the harvest hash with maple sweet potatoes. Choice of toast was cranberry wild rice.
Really enjoyed the food and coffee here and would definitely stop back to try other options. Especially the features

So good we had to come back! The breakfast items are so big you can share them and still leave stuffed! Their latte’s are delicious! And the prices are the cheapest around. Cozy, small town vibe with about a dozen tables, it was packed and we waited only 15 minutes- definitely worth the wait!
