New ownership, same menu, but new recipes? First time here since the new ownership and we were excited to see they still had their tomato garganzola soup. . . . That is until we ate it. Lost the depth of flavor. Seemed like a new recipe. What use to be a light tempura batter on the shrimp was thick and heavy although still called tempura. The Alfredo sauce was too thick and dry to eat. We actually went to Chase for the prime rib and tomato soup. We checked with the hostess to make sure they still had the soup and were serving prime and then after being served our beverages were told they no longer served the prime in the winter. Did the old staff and recipes leave with the old owners?

Spending many summers at my family's cabin in northern MN, we have frequented the Chase a lot for special meals over the years. The new owners have taken huge strides to improve The 502. I love trying their new menu items and the live music they have been bringing in is great! The staff are clearly hard at work and the views of Leech Lake are unmatched to any other restaurant in Walker. Can't wait to see what they have in store for this place!

I'm so impressed with the menu improvements and quality of food and drinks since the new owners/management took over this summer! This is what Walker needed. You have to try the jalapeño black and blue burger, Leech Lake Jambalaya and THE PRETZEL!!

Who… works… here? Saturday night. (3pm) No host. Reservations. No help. I get not having staff due to lack of worthy workers, but damn, do better to serve people who make reservations well ahead of time!Pasta was slimy- smelt like fish. Apps were served slowly and took forever to get basic meals (burgers and pasta).Server was unenthusiastic and depressed. Atmosphere outdated and filthy. Carpet!!! EwDive bar in a restaurant! Gross, unwelcoming, bad service and higher prices. Never again.

Asked to leave because I gave a second chance due to a prior negative, honest review. Not taking customer constructive criticism to heart, bad management.My last sincere, in detail experience was PAID to be edited by the owner. The reviews disingenuous and bought. Yuck! Get experienced. Do your job. Petty. Welcome me back with a new light.Talk and resolve the issue and move forward- don’t band a paying patron. Weird.

Hostile customer service. Hesitant to seat and serve. Very sloppy. Slow.Servers and management were aggravated to have us as customers, even though the restaurant was mostly empty and clear. 4pm- not a busy rush time…Food was lacking of flavor and came out slow…. Probably sat in the kitchen for some time before being attended to by server. BLAND. Cold. Gross. Drinks were far and few between. Get help. Bring in a cook or manager who can work on your gig!Disappointed, go elsewhere.

Dinner was great & The service was great! I had Prime Rib, it was cooked to perfection, and my wife had the Cob salad, and also really enjoyed it!Kid-friendliness: Height chairs are available, and the staff was very friendly with our little one.

Waiter was not friendly. He dumped the food off and never came back to see if our meal was okay.Food was okay, ordered medium rare steak, it was well done. Would have told the waiter if he had actually asked. Ignored us until he brought the bill.Will not eat here EVER again!!!
Old dark restaurant lakeside. Friendly wait staff and prompt service. Food was good but not great. I had the w Allie sandwich. Chips were unusual in shape but excellent. My wife had margarita flatbread - again good but not great. Restaurant setting could use a major overhaul - tables and chairs, carpet, walls etc.

Service was very slow. Food was average at best (average bar food). No soap in the men’s bathroom. Two hours to get food and pay bill. Only positive was the view. Been here a few times now and probably won’t go back.
