Some of the best sushi I've had in MN.
Just a warning, they are not very equipped to deal with small kids (I didn't dock them for this, as they don't advertise for it). We went early, and the staff was very friendly and treated us well.
this place definitely exceeds expectations for quality, quantity and taste!

One of our rolls had plastic in it! Both rolls fell apart when we picked up a piece. It took a very long time for the food to come as we were there early 5:30 and the place was half ful

The food was decent, but the service left a lot to be desired. I ordered three rounds: the premium nigiri plate, a lobster handroll with “Wagyu bacon,” and the Wagyu nigiri. The nigiri was well-prepared, nicely presented, and carefully cut. Unfortunately, the lobster roll was disappointing—the “Wagyu bacon” turned out to be gristly trimmings that were tough and unpleasant to eat.
The bigger issue was the service. Although I arrived at 7:30, my lobster roll didn’t come out until 8:30. By then, staff was already closing down the kitchen, vacuuming, and cleaning around diners, even though the restaurant advertises being open until 9. This created a rushed, uncomfortable atmosphere. To add to that, my server wanted out so bad she kept interrupting me to try to rush the service. The final straw was that at 8:40, with several tables still in the restaurant, the bus boy sprayed down the sushi counter with windex while I was eating. While the sushi chef did apologize, the overall experience was undermined by slow service and the early shutdown.
In short, the food had potential, but the execution and service made the visit less enjoyable than expected, and management was no where to be seen.

Birthday dinner. Loved the tofu
New remodel (i know I am late to this reveiw) is a little less fun but the extra space helps with the friday rush! Food is good as always!
This is a Japanese cuisine gem in the twin cities. If you are looking for a restaurant that is truly passionate about Japanese food, this is where to go.
Their rolls are ridiculously large and extravagant!
However, they have other authentic Japanese foods.
The dashi stock base is lovely
Their sushi bar is very wide and during the rush, there are a lot of sushi chefs working. It's a vibe!
The food is pricey compared to other sushi restaurants, but you really do get what you pay for. Huge portions and exceptional cuisine.
As someone who has been to Japan, I would recommend! 👍

I used to like it a lot. But lately, the quality has gone down. The atmosphere changed after the new remodel, too. It used to be cozy and special, and now it looks like any other cheap diner. The quality of samon is not consistent either. Basically, it is just ok now, not worth the money.
I’ve been to this restaurant in the past. It’s newly renovated since the last time we came in. Amazing sushi with zero service. Rolls were well designed and crafted. Price went up dramatically. Average atmosphere and decor per its price. Warning if you’re Asian and not dressed up. The local senior customers were quite demanding - servers were very busy chatting with those ladies and maintaining good relationship. Servers did not recognize other customers were ready to order, nor had time to bring food from chef to the table. We do appreciate the thinner male server checking on us during the meal and refill our hot water. I had been watching our prepared sushi from the chef, ready for us, for 5mins. The sushi was just seating there in room temperature, exposed - just a few steps away from us. No one was paying attention to bring it to our table. The chef had to call store manager to bring it to us. Did not feel welcomed from the moment we walked in - front desk was not happy seeing Asians coming in. Despite there were a lot of open tables, we were being seated close to the restroom and kitchen, and it’s very busy where servers need to walk by us a lot. It would be great if we could be seated near the window or away from the restrooms.

Every time I come I have great service, so this is not a review on the servers.
I have a few critiques.
1. The rolls lack depth of flavor that I have gotten from other sushi restaurants. I think it’s mainly to do with the lack of proper rice seasoning
2. The pieces of the rolls are absolutely massive and hardly fit in your mouth. Makes for an uncomfortable eating experience
Personally, I find with the of lack of finesse and flavor these rolls are too expensive to justify.
Once the flavor has been improved I believe that they could potentially represent the price better.

Fresh fish and quality food! Authentic and creative at the same time! Could you please open another restaurant in Chaska, MN? We need better Japanese food in Chaska area!!!
Sushi Fix has been our go-to sushi spot for many years. Unfortunately, the service during our last two visits was less than ideal and we will be going elsewhere moving forward. We had the same server on both occasions and he was very slow, dismissive, and unfriendly. Our food was received out of order (apps before drinks). Menus taken away before we placed orders for main sushi rolls. He never gave eye contact and always walked away before we could request anything else. We had to defer to other servers on multiple occasions for simple requests, including asking to have our menus back and drink refills. Once our service began to exceed 2 hours, we ended up cancelling our final order for another round of drinks and dessert. He never checked-in on us or provided updates on the delay. I wish we knew his name, so the problem could be addressed directly. He’s never bothered to introduce himself both times. I believe he is also the bartender, which understandably makes him quite busy, but does not warrant treatment that spoils our dining experience. If anything, it’s inefficient to preemptively take away our menus and not place our orders in a timely matter. After years of loving this place, we now feel there are better experiences elsewhere. It’s a shame because the fish is always fantastic and rest of the staff is great. We’d just rather not have to deal with this particular server.
We left feeling disheartened after our most recent visit to SushiFix. We had been long-time customers of this place, coming here many times over the years. Entering during our visit this month, we were met with an unusual renovation to the space. What had long been a cozy, intimate and inviting dinner environment had been torn out in favor of a new, unimpressive look. All walls were knocked down, turning the restaurant into one open high school cafeteria styled void. All walls were painted grey and stood barren beneath the blue-tinged ceiling lights. I could hardly keep a conversation over “Not Like Us” by Kendrick Lamar being blasted over the restaurant speakers.
Sushi Fix is hands down my all-time go to spot for sushi.
My wife treated me to a late Father’s Day dinner and as always, we had an amazing time. The recent renovation really opened up the space. It feels more inviting and much less cramped, which makes the dining experience even better. The sashimi was incredibly fresh, and the rolls were generous in both size and flavor. We’re regulars when it comes to the udon noodle, silly roll, and sashimi platter. Everything on the menu consistently delivers bold, delicious flavors.
While the price can be on the higher end, the top-notch quality and unforgettable taste make it well worth it. Sushi Fix isn’t just a meal. It’s an experience we keep coming back for.
If sushi were a superhero, Chef Kou would be its fearless leader—raw, rolled, and ridiculously brilliant. Sushi Fix isn’t just a restaurant; it’s where fish go to become legends. 11/10, would let Kou adopt me as his sushi apprentice.
