Bartender lost her complete mind (completely unprofessional) when asked for a signature cocktail. Wanted to kick us out because of that. we heard her yelling about it from a number of tables away, just because we asked for a signature drink. The manager confirmed her her behavior was inappropriate and out of line. . I've never experienced anything like this. Outside of that, our server was a complete sweetheart-he felt bad about the whole thing.. totally get it was a busy night for James J Hill days, but she was completely unprofessional, and I would not want her representing my bar /restaurant. Maybe it was a bad day for her personally, and should give some grace. Not sure. I am by no means a regular, so she will probably continue to work there, so it is what it isl but super yuck experience. And I am one to rarely leave reviews

What a great place to eat! The Salmon special is delicious, as is the cheesecake. The Shrimp Tacos are very tasty 😋 They also have a great variety of beef burgers and a delicious turkey burger. In the Fall, they serve a tremendous Apple Crisp which easily serves two.

The food is definitely solid here, and that alone is a reason I continue to come back after all of these years. I honestly haven't had one bad thing off the menu, and I've eaten here dozens of times. And the servers here are very friendly and efficient. This establishment has one really big, big problem. You have an older man that usually closes the bar during the week (he was bartending last night: 08/14/25), he has been there for a long time, and I am truly shocked he hasn't been terminated. He is hands down, the rudest bartender I've ever come across. He's consistently in a terrible mood and rude to anyone and everyone who orders anything from him. I've had an abundance of bad experiences with him, so has my friends and family. He's disrespectful, short tempered and extremely dismissive. I've had him say misogynistic things to one of my best friends who was pregnant at the time, snap at my mother for ordering a drink at 10:15 [when they close at 11], constantly making rude remarks, and overall, he is just a mean person that does not belong in any position in hospitality/the service industry. He is an indelible stain on your business and I'm certain he has driven patrons away to never be seen again. Do your business a favor and get rid of the only thing that is keeping this place fully well rounded.

We came with a very large group of kids, around 20-25 so it was not necessarily an easy request to accommodate when we walked in. They agreed to seat us, but insisted the tables needed to be on opposite sides of the venue. With young kids this was problematic and also nonsensical as there was plenty of opening seating in one section, which never filled out over the duration we were there.
The thing is, the service and the approach to service was atrocious. The manager, a lady, was perhaps the most unprofessional and worst service industry manager I have ever met. Her answers to any request were basically, go find another place to eat if you don't like it! Otherwise, one of our tables had a horrible waiter, the other table had a good waiter.
The actual venue is lame, but I gave atmosphere a 3 because Wayzata is beautiful and any excuse to go there is probably worth it.
Finally, perhaps most importantly the food was very good. If the service was not literally awful it would be 4 stars from me, but 3 stars because of the horrific service (could arguably be 2 stars if service is important to you).
