Let me just start by saying: Keys Cafe has ruined biscuits & gravy for me — in the best possible way. Because now nothing else compares. Nothing. I’ve peaked. The biscuits? Fluffy, warm, and so fresh you’d think someone’s grandma is in the back whispering prayers over the dough. They come out steaming, soft in the center, with that perfect golden exterior that holds up to gravy like a damn champion. And the gravy… listen. I don’t know who’s in charge back there, but this was buttery, perfectly seasoned, full of actual sausage, and the ideal thickness — not that heavy, gluey kind that makes you rethink your order, and not watery either. Just… right. Goldilocks would weep. The hash browns? Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and somehow not greasy at all. I don’t know how they pulled that off. Witchcraft? Voodoo? A deal with the breakfast gods? Don’t care. I respect it. Overall, it was the kind of breakfast that makes you stop mid-bite just to nod at your plate.
Always the best !

Great food. Friendly staff. Best overall place to go out of all the keys food chains. I always look forward to visit the white Bear lake restaurant. These pictures were from the Hudson location in Wisconsin. Keys has the over best food in my opinion. The 2 other pictures are at the white Bear lake location. Chef salad at WBL but not longer on the menu at the Hudson location.

Hopefully this review reaches the owners. I have been coming to this location for the past 4 years. The chicken fried steak with that seriously amazing gravy was my go to. I dreamed about it. Why on EARTH would you change it? It was liquid gold. I came back to eat here after some time away I came with two friends I ripped and raved about this place. It wasn’t good. You guys didn’t even change the menu description so when I read it I’m like yep that’s what I want ! So good! When the waitress brought it out I noticed immediately it didn’t look the same it had chunks and I tasted it and was really disappointed. You subbed it for a pork sausage gravy and you didn’t even write that down for people who don’t eat pork! Like us! So misleading and when I brought it up to the waitress she acknowledged that the recipe was changed and no longer make the gravy. I told her I didn’t like it and we don’t eat pork. She said nothing. I put the plate to the side and it sat there for the entire meal. She didn’t offer any resolution or take it off the tab. She charged us for it. I did call in and speak to the manager and suggest starting with changing the menu and also we would have appreciated the item comped from the bill. In a nutshell owners if your reading this do yourself a favor and bring back the old gravy ! Doing a renovation doesn’t mean that you have to change the menu :(
Super good food attentive server, huge portions and everything was cooked to perfection. Must stop if you're in the area good prices as well. Keys Cafe & Bakery White Bear Lake, MN respects the people and the whole of what a good restaurant should strive to be! Thank you Keys Cafe.

It is always a rock-solid experience here. For me I had my old standby which is biscuits and gravy but as usual in any place they have too much biscuit and not enough gravy. But I guess that's a preference thing for a person.

Nice local diner.
The one thing that I wish they'd change is having to pay up at the register.
Edit: I was able to pay from the table today.

It is unreal what this keys charges for breakfast food. 7$ for a side of hash browns. 21$ for build your own omelet Absolute rip off. Just a few years ago A build your own omelette was roughly $14. Breakfast food is cheap and this play will charge you an arm and a leg for very poor quality food. I was a breakfast cook for many years and let me say this, I know exactly how long hash browns can sit on a grill before going bad. Every time I order hash browns on a to go order I get some cold old browns that have sat on the grill for far too long. Do they just give the old crappy hashbrowns to the to-go order people? Do not waist your money here. Woodbury location is 10 times better

Best breakfast ever. Build your own omelet (5 ingredients) is huge. Homemade jelly for your toast. A+
