WE have enjoyed the food and service at the Cafe for several years now. A great addition to Winona. A cute place to dine in as well as take out.
We have purchased sandwiches here for my husbands department for special occasions. I have brought some back to Eau Claire area for friends as well, who have enjoyed the wonderful Italian Pastries. A gem ! .
I wished I lived in Winona so I could eat here all the time. Has everything from sandwiches to pasta to easy apps. Good for a little date or a business meeting. Staff is super sweet as well! 10/10
We were a party of three, ordered 3 sandwiches and zucchini sticks and it cost almost $75... Very little meat in 2 of the sandwiches, a lot of bread and a whole bag of arugula on them. The veggie sandwich the bread was toasted you couldn't hardly bite into it. Water glasses were dirty. The server wasn't very professional looking,
Went at breakfast time for chocolate croissants and a chai latte, and was impressed! The croissant was buttery and flaky, and my chai was spicy and creamy!
I have never dined in yet as their business hours / days don’t align well with my schedule. But I have ordered here many times and absolutely in love with the “Tutto”sandwich and although I love it my only annoyance is the inconsistency on how it is prepared, it’s like a roll of the dice. They use different types of bread on it, sometimes it’s stale or the preparer is stingy on the ingredients. It’s a guessing game each time I order on how it will taste, I wonder if they have a high rollover on employees? But I still keep coming back because it’s a reward when you get someone who makes it right. My husband tried recently asking for “extras” on it to see if that would ensure consistency and that version was better on filling but the bread used was thick and heavy so it was too much. (I think they should stick to lighter breads as heavy/thick breads suppress the flavor of everything inside) And finally the CANNOLIS!!! Oh my goodness those cannolis, seriously so delicious!! They make them correctly y’all with ricotta cheese and then they dip one side in candied orange peel and the other side in pistachios. So crispy and decadent but not overly sweet. 🤤 I love how they come in (2) different sizes lol. Ofcourse I go straight for the bigger version, if you like cannolis you would too. I wish I could order more often but their prices, yikes to my budget but when I can treat myself or more like when my husband wants to treat me that’s where he goes 😉❤️. Sorry no pictures, I would rather eat it 😉
Best food and Winona’s best breakfast!!
Sapori is one of my favorite spots in Winona. Fresh bread, the sweets in the pastry case and a great cortado. Recommend to anyone looking for a great lunch!
We had a group of 6 for our first visit. Ciabatta was amazing. Sandwiches were great, spicy pasta great. Casio e pepe was good but dry by the end- olive oil more easily accessible would have been great.
Service struggled a bit, forgetting a beverage, needing to request multiple items.
Vegetarian options: Sandwiches are huge, pastas are medium.

Above average
Desserts and coffee were both excellent, but the pasta was a disappointment. Not bad, but no better than what you might get from your average noodle company.

I got some pasta which was delicious! My girlfriend got a sandwich which was also amazing and huge! Can't wait to stop back sometime when I have room for desert!
Parking: Might have to park a bit away if they are really busy.

First timer. Had a hard time deciding which sandwich to get because they all looked awesome. Ordered the Tutto because I can’t pass up mortadella-yum. It was delicious and HUGE! Got a hazelnut gelato to go and have already started thinking about a return trip. So good!

Nice little place with some very tasty authentic Italian treats. Coffee was delicious and enjoyed a decent sampling of their pastries.

Unfortunately the food was really not good. In fact it was really bad. However the staff was very nice.
We loved coming to Cafe Sapori - the food absolutely wowed us. We started with an olive loaf - I wasn't expecting much at night given I thought the bread would have been out all day. Nope, it was completely fresh and flavorful. We then had the brussels sprouts, the pistachio pesto pasta, and a verdura sandwich. That was...too much food for two people. The brussels sprouts were amazing - some of the best I have ever had (and I eat a lot of brussels sprouts). The pesto pasta was perfect with every bite - the pistachio was nutty but more pleasant than the typical pine nuts and made for a wonderful take on a classic. The homemade noodles were phenomenal. The sandwich tasted mild compared to those, but I took most of it home for lunch the next day, and it was then incredible. Lastly, we got gelato and cannoli for dessert. The gelato was seemingly naturally flavored and thus more mild. The cannoli, however, was rich and creamy with a nice, crunchy shell - I highly recommend it. The atmosphere is casual, service was friendly, and they really care about their food, and it shows. I just wish it were in St. Paul instead.
Kid-friendliness: Great for kids.
