If your typical Chinese food place in the Midwest is average, this place is probably a small step below, but still not horrible or unexpected, especially given the price. Waitress was nice and moved as promptly as she could throughout the dinner, and the orange chicken was fine. The crab rangoons, however, were definitely lacking in flavor. In general, there are better Asian places to dine at in Winona.
We have been dining at the Great Hunan since we moved to Winona in 1989. The food has been consistently well-prepared, and the service is always pleasant and helpful. The decor could use an update, but it doesn't prevent our enjoying a visit.
I totally understand the price of things going up, but I didn’t expect the quality to go down. The crab Rangoons are barely filled. Not much meat in the chicken fried rice or fragrant pork. Sorry, Won’t be coming here again.
