For the area, this place is a hidden gem. Insane artful presentation for the sushi and flavors are absolutely delicious. Miso and onion soup in particular are awesome. I've tried the Maki and specialty rolls and both are fantastic! We've been here many times before, but my parents really enjoyed their teriyaki chicken with noodles and salmon hibachi this time around. We come here for a meal every time we're in Winona. A reliable and lovely option!

We visited Winona late in the day on July 4th, and as expected, most food places were closed. Miya Bistro was just about to flip their sign to “Closed” when we asked last minute and with a group of 14 people, if they could accommodate us.

To our surprise, the owner welcomed us with warmth and humility, gently letting us know that most items were unavailable but offering hibachi and a few noodle dishes. That alone felt like gold to us.

What stood out even more was the setting the owner holding a small baby on her lap, her young kids playing in the back, and still, they served us with patience, grace, and kindness. It was nothing short of incredible.

And the food? Absolutely delicious. Every plate came out hot, fresh, and bursting with flavor. You could tell it was made with love.

Miya Bistro didn’t just serve us dinner they gave us a memory we’ll cherish. They’ve earned customers for life.

Highly, highly recommend

One of my favorite restaurants in the area. The best gyoza ever and every sushi roll I've tried has been soo good, my favorite is the volcano roll. The staff is friendly and I always have a good time.

Never miss this place. Legit some of the best sushi I've ever had anywhere . I travel alot and it doesn't matter if it's a city on the ocean or winona . This place is 1 of the top spots I've ever been and the main waitress lady is the kindest most friendly amazing human every time I go . Can't recommend this place enuff . It's above 5 stars. Don't miss this spot if u r in winona

The food was ok. The best thing we got was the onion soup is was sooooo good! I asked for spicy salmon sushi it looked really good but had no taste. Was not spicy at all. They brought out one dish at a time which was a bit annoying. There is not enough people working there they need to hire more people. It looks like it’s also a daycare which is pretty distracting. It took forever to get the check and then we sat for 20 mins waiting for our credit card to be returned and we ended up getting up and the waitress was suprised she thought we left … hire more people. How many times can one person apologize, stop apologizing … the fried banana was given to us for our extremely long wait time to order and to receive the food.

Me and my wife visited on Sunday, May 25. There was only one server and she was also managing the front desk and the phone *and* taking care of her toddler. It was a masterful, herculean effort. The food was terrific and we were so grateful to be part of such a family-friendly space. We visited again later in the week (yesterday) and the food was just as good. Can't wait to visit every time we are in town.
