I enjoyed the teriyaki beef here! The fried rice options are also very tasty. I love the fact that they have Sapporo on tap. That’s hard to find around this area.

Sever Amy is very rude, bad service and rushed us for everything like she wanted us to leave asap. We ended up not tipping well because of her bad service and she mumbled under her breath about it. Maybe next time be friendlier so the outcome will be different. Lunch is okay, dinner is better if you want fresher and better food.

Had to score this place low because everything was great except the non sushi food… sushi was good though and it gets more attention than the rest of the menu items because everything else was bland and or dry

The salmon rolls were good, however the filly roll was way too large, too much rice and cream cheese in the roll. It seems like it's quite difficult for sushi places to put together a decent filly roll. On top of that, the older woman who was greeting customers was quite rude. The server was nice and I made sure to tip him well.

I tried this place upon a locals recommendation, it was an all you can eat sushi and I was hungry. First off the placeis very decent and atmosphere nice. Though odd seeing sports casts at a sushi place. I was however disappointed at the all you can eat price of $35 for the sushi varieties. Plus the limited number of sushi's offered. I have a dietary restriction of no shellfish so it's mainly other fish. I was looking forward to tekkamaki tuna rolls, but instead they had spicy tuna rolls and no option for just a regular tuna roll. I was offered a sample and it was too extreme for my personal palate. I ended up getting a chicken fried rice instead. That itself was very tasty, well portioned and affordable. But I was very disappointed in the sushi buffet options. I doubt I'll be returning, especially since I'm not a local.

We have been coming to Akita for years and have always enjoyed most everything on their menu.
The spicy tuna hand rolls are super packed with tuna, and the seaweed wrapper is one of the best. The tempura shrimp is outstanding, with a tasty shrimp lightly battered with panko. It also comes with a great dipping sauce (I would order it as soup, it's so good!)
The specialty rolls are also awesome, along with the sushi and sashimi. Everything is good on the menu. The Gyoza may be my least favorite, along with the teppanyaki dishes.

The Sapporo on tap is wonderful, but the price went up 50%. Ouch. They have a pretty good wine list also serving various sakes. I'm not sure if they didn't renew their liquor license because they no longer serve mixed drinks and fruity cocktails. Which is a bummer for some.

Remember that the lunch menu is more limited than the dinner. No sashimi and certain specialty rolls. But, the price is approx $10 less, and it makes sense why.

The only thing I would love to see are new specialty rolls as the menu hasn't changed in years. And for the atmosphere it is great. The only thing missing is some kind of background music, in my opinion. Always a nice touch.

All in all, Akita is a WONDERFUL place to eat fresh and yummy AYCE sushi in the Twin Cities!
