Southern Social Woodbury Reviews
Food was extremely salty. When I mentioned that to the waiter (Connor?), he said his best guess was that the juice from the brisket on top fell into the pork belly and proceeded to let him know if there was anything else needed. Lost appetite after that.
So glad the pork belly burnt ends came out first because I actually enjoyed it. Won’t be returning unfortunately.
We had high hopes for Southern Social in Woodbury, but unfortunately, our experience fell flat. From the start, our server seemed like she hated her job.
We ordered cheese curds as an appetizer, and while they were lukewarm at best some were squeaky inside. The entrees didn’t fare much better: the brisket tasted like it had been sitting around for a day or two, the chicken strips were tough and dry, and the fries were lukewarm at best. Southern Social Woodbury offers a refreshing dining experience with attentive and efficient service. The restaurant boasts top-notch food and a welcoming atmosphere. The staff provide exceptional service, going above and beyond to ensure a memorable experience. The bartender is welcoming and helps customers explore the drink options.
Recent reviews highlight that everything is delicious, with nachos and flatbread being fine choices. The Cajun Snapper remains a standout dish, described as the best snapper ever had, cooked to perfection and served over corn succotash. The hot chicken sandwich and voodoo burger are also popular, with the burger noted for its perfect balance of spice, meat, and cheese.
Though the menu may not have a lot of choices, the food is praised for its unique flavors and reasonable pricing. The tossed Nashville hot chicken wings are a favorite appetizer, and drinks like lavender mint lemonade are refreshing. While the brisket entree was noted to be a little too done, the cheese curds were enjoyed for their amazing dipping sauce. Despite being packed, customers appreciated being seated quickly, often in under 20 minutes. The welcoming atmosphere and lovely decor contribute to a lively setting that makes every visit worthwhile.
