Wonderful atmosphere, fabulous drinks, and the food is outstanding!
We had lunch here after our tour. My wife and I both had sandwiches, one chicken and one beef. At first I thought the price was a little expensive but, when we got our meals they were definitely worth it. Both were amazing. The service was great and we liked the eclectic atmosphere. A definite return spot for us.

Have been coming for lunch lately and walking the dogs through town after. Love being able to sit on the boardwalk and enjoy the delicious food! You really can't go wrong with any choice, today we tried the garlic parmesan wings and Santa Fe chicken sandwich. Absolutely amazing! Can't wait until our next visit!

Try the Pink Squirrel! Best pizza too!
We decided to eat at Catalpa after attending a local event. Turns out, this is a great idea!
We were fortunate that we went when we did because the restaurant filled up quickly. The service was excellent even though they were packed.
I had the Santa Fe burger and the spicy pickles and onions for the side. My wife and son shared the three cheese pizza.
The food took time coming, but I don't hold that against them. At times, it was standing room only.
The burger came on a flat bread style bun. The meat filled the bread completely, and I truly enjoyed the jalapeños and the sauce. The pickles were crunchy and delicious with a mild heat.
The pizza was the star of the show with, almost, cartoon like strings of cheese stretching from the slices. The flavors were amazing, and the little touch of honey came through while you ate.
Crispy, chewy, creamy, sweet, there aren't enough adjectives to describe this pizza.
It's a little pricy at $25 for the pizza, but it's absolutely worth it.

My friend and I were there on Saturday for the show at the Lyceum and had the chicken teriyaki pizza. We ordered the house salad with garlic dressing... Holy smokes! We didn't realize how huge the salads were . Lol. The garlic dressing was absolutely heavenly! So good I had to order an extra cup to dip my pizza in! And the pizza! OMG! Absolutely one of the best pizzas I've ever had! The crust was perfect, a little chewy, not too dry, amazing! Thank you! Thank you!

I’ve eaten here a few times and I’m never disappointed. The place was packed but the food still comes out quickly, the service and atmosphere is friendly; and the food is extraordinary.
There is seating outdoors in the front, indoor seating, and a covered porch in the back for diners as well.
Every pizza has a unique taste and every slice is packed with flavor.

Incredible and unique food. Excellent service and a local feel. Take the small drive away from i70 and the chain places. It is well worthwhile. We had the German smoked burger gluten free and it was so delicious.
Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options for pizza and sandwiches

Restaurantji Recommends
Just tried this place today. Some of the best food I have ever tasted. The chefs menu and pairing of her food and spices and sauces are amazing. I highly recommend this restaurant the next time you’re out and about around Columbia,Mo.
The four of us came to Catalpa around 4pm on the Saturday right after Thanksgiving, we drove 45 miles only to find them closed because, like Liz explained, business being too slow. We bumped into three other ladies who came from St. Louis to experience the golden you-know-what. Seven customers not enough business? Bye!

Went there because the place we were headed was closed. Lucky for us. Food was great. Friendly staff and the handled the extra 10 tables that came in because the place across the street wasn’t open with speed, efficiency and over all good hospitality.

Well the food was okay. They served it in pizza boxes to the table. I wondered if I should leave and eat elsewhere since so nice outside. But we stayed and ate from the boxes, all three, at the table, and there wasn’t really room for much else.
