It was delicious and worth experiencing once. We only had appetizers and a mixed drink, they were all delicious but bring your wallet. Just know that you're spending a bit to keep this small business in an even smaller town open. Keep up the good work!

Absolutely wonderful meal from start to finish. Our table had the duck, swordfish and filet mignon entrees and all were delicious. All entrees were creatively and perfectly prepared. I would say this could be a destination restaurant, worth traveling to Arrowrock just for the restaurant, although the Lyceum Thester was also wonderful.

By far the best meal I have had in a long time. Service was top notch. Had my 3 kids with me and they treated us like royalty. Have to make a reservation!! Will be back.

The food is second to none. The flavors of every dish tie in perfectly, the portions are very generous even for a big boy such as myself. You will not leave hungry. Staff was very friendly took great care of us. Did I mention the food!! Every dish is a flavor adventure that will leave you wanting more. Cannot say enough good things about this establishment.

This place is beyond amazing!! My husband and I came to visit after one of the Arrowrock Lyceum shows and we were just blown away by the food and hospitality! The owner/ chef kept the place open for us to eat!!! Everything we had tonight went above and beyond!! A MUST in Missouri!!!

The restaurant where the owner feels like she's better than everybody else and isn't afraid to tell everybody! $45 minimum and don't don't. you dare tell the owner that you have a problem or she'll snap! Not a place for kids!

We used to enjoy the restaurant with Family when they were in town. It was a great place with good food. We went in recently with them and our kids and the hostess at the front made us feel unwelcome and as if we couldn't afford to eat there. She made it very obvious to everyone around that we likely couldn't afford it and wouldn't want to pay for our kids. Will never be going back here, very disappointing. Elitist weirdos in the middle of nowhere go figure.

I had the best meal I've had in ages when we dined at Catalpa and I can't wait to go again! The roast duck with cherry port wine sauce was fabulous, but I also loved the fresh salad served with pickled beets, wedge of cheese & a fabulous house made cracker. We had the gooseberry tart for dessert but she changes choices often--I don't think you can go wrong! Definitely worth a little travel time for a delicious dinner and slowed down dining experience.

This is not a restaurant to take your kids to! they have a policy that states you need to get an entree or at least spend close to $45 and there's a $25 share fee if you split a meal !it's not a laid-back atmosphere and that owner seems to be brash and over the top! if you have any kind of problem with your meal she takes it on the chin takes it personal! I would prefer to have a much more laid-back easy going atmosphere where if I had an issue I felt like it could be addressed without feeling attacked!

Liz always has the best dining experience whether it is fine dining or more casual. The menu is thoughtful and executed flawlessly. Catalpa's space is beautiful and quirky. The staff is professional.

We dined after a Lyceum Theatre production. We chose 4 appetizers and drinks which would have cost $150ish without a tip. The chef, also possibly the owner, came to our table with no discretion and told us that she expected us to have entrees. It was incredibly embarrassing because the people at the table across from us clearly heard everything that she said. We did then order 2 entrees, and the food was very good. We spent $360 for 4 people including the tip. After discussing what happened with our group after we left, we all agreed that we should have left the restaurant after the chef approached us. We will not eat at Catalpa again.

I have eaten at restaurants around the world, and what a delight to find that THE BEST MEAL I HAVE EVER EATEN is at a restaurant so close to home, in Arrow Rock, Mo. I ate at Catalpa once when they first opened and had delicious pulled pork with prickly pear sauce, but on this visit, the menu and prices had changed. Would the extra expense be worth it, we wondered? It was worth every penny. The service was impeccable, and our waitress never rushed us between courses. Her enthusiasm about the menu made us eager to sample it all, and every item was unique, flavorful, artistic, and sublimely delicious. Not only were we in a state of euphoria because of how tasty the food was, but the decor enhanced the experience tenfold. The atmosphere here is stunning, original and enchanting. Oprah once said that, “the love is in the details,” and at every level of this dining experience, we felt the love.
