Really miss the previous owners/operators. Made reservations, but when we got there, some other customers had rearranged tables to suit themselves and we were left with a table in the middle of the buffet line. It was like sitting at a city intersection and was SO loud we couldn't hear each other talk!!! One staff member told us we could have a corner table in the bar area that was quieter, but when we moved out stuff there, some walk-ins had taken that table. There were other vacant tables available in a quieter area, bug we were told those were for some other people that had reservations. So did we, we were there, and those other people were not! We had to go back to the original table. When we made reservations, we were not told that we could not order off the menu, there was buffet only. The buffet was nothing to brag about, and cost $32!!! When we went through the line and got to the fried chicken, there were only two very small pieces available (for 4 of us). Par for the course at this place. They did finally bring out more chicken. Buffet food again not worth $32!!! Will never eat there again. Then it took ages just to get our check so we could finally get out of there.😖

Our only option on a Thursday evening was the buffet. We felt the food was good, but not $30/pp good. Tasted like mass produced food; which is buffet food, but not at that price. No way at my age that so can eat $30 worth of food. We really enjoyed the history of the building.

Recently dined at Huston Tavern before Lyceum Show. I have dined there before with previous owners. This was my first time to dine since new management took over. I am glad to see it back open but the buffet was average at best and for $32.50 a person way overpriced. The chicken was good, when it was available on serving line, they seemed to have a hard time keeping up. the rest of dishes were very simple and most were luke warm. the buffet included salad, corn-bean mixture that was terrible, mashed potatoes and gravy, sliced ham and pudding desert. During non-show days they have a chicken dinner for $15 that includes as much as buffet. Very disappointing, I will continue coming to the shows, which was wonderful, but eat somewhere else before I get there, the meal cost almost as much as the show

First, and foremost, my wife and I found this to be a very well run restaurant staffed by friendly, and very helpful persons. We enjoyed a Saturday buffet that included some of the finest prepared and seasoned fried chicken, potatoes and gravy, roasted vegetables, and a delicious fresh green salad with dressings prepared in-house. The deserts were fantastic. The atmosphere is great and Arrow Rock is one of the finest historic villages we’ve ever visited. Please visit J Huston Tavern for some excellent meals, atmosphere, and attention from a wonderful staff in a fantastic setting. These folks are doing a fantastic job of running a restaurant.

Stopped in to stretch our legs and was treated to some exceptional fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, and Brussel sprouts. Decent little preserved goods selection as well. Dinner was well priced and will definitely stop back in if we’re ever in the area, as everyone in town was so nice! So glad we got off I-70.
