Fantastic food! I always enjoy the specials.
I've ate there once, several years ago, while attending the Lyceum Theater. The building is very cool and I the fried chicken was outstanding.
Is nice and is pretty good
food not hot and macaroni and cheese was overcooked.
Called them around 11:30 on Sunday 10/22/23 got a recording saying they were open from 11 till 2. So we drove the 13 miles off the highway to find them closed. No information on why. They’ve been open for 150 years they must be doing something right but I don’t know what it is. Luckily we walked into Catulpa across the street. It was an awesome restaurant and it served us and all the other people who drove out of there way to visit Hustons
The famous chicken dinner only had dark meat and no white meat. I was surprised and disappointed, but it tasted good. Vegetable beef soup was warm but not hot. When I called this to the waitresses attention, she said oh. There was no attempt to give me a hot bowl of soup and so I ate my soup lukewarm.

Had the burger special (Gouda, bacon, grilled veggies). Very attentive service and a great value for this type of full service restaurant in a historic building.

Nice little town with this being the main restaurant in town.We arrived on Saturday around 1:00pm. Charming restaurant and decor. The menu lists fried chicken as their featured dish along with other options as well.Staff is very friendly. The pre dinner rolls were a bit over baked and dry. I ordered the pork tenderloin meal and it was good as were the mashed potatoes and green beans. My wife ordered the feature dish of fried chicken. Unfortunately the chicken was overcooked and dry. My wife could not eat much of the chicken due to the dryness. Her mashed potatoes and vegetable were fine.I can’t recommend this restaurant at this point due to the chicken, but otherwise it was fine.

Definitely book a reservation in advanced!! Particularly if you are going on the nights of a show at the Lyceum- I think it can fill up fast. The Mac and Chicken was pretty good- pasta was ok and the chicken well seasoned. It is a beautifully maintained historic building with an interesting display harkening back to the days when the house was an old mercantile. Waitresses were friendly.
We celebrated our 32nd Anniversary at Hustons and the Lyceum. This was our third time here. We both ordered the fried chicken. What a mistake! The amount of salt in the batter made it inedible. We asked for a manager, but both were gone for the day. Someone in the kitchen took a bite and decided to throw out all the batter and start again. I was disappointed that we weren't offered another menu item. The mashed potatoes, beans, chocolate cake, and coffee were excellent. Our waiter was courteous, but spoke so quietly that we were embarrassed by the number of times we asked him to repeat himself. I'd also suggest he stop chewing gum while working. We love the history of Arrow Rock and Hustons. We still recommend both!

This a spectacular restaurant with an interesting historical story with it. The food is classic comfort fare and is expertly prepared. Worth the visit to Arrow Rock for the tavern alone let alone the charming historic village
We made reservations for dinner after the Lyceum matinee on August 26th, 2023. We have done this many times and always enjoyed their pork tenderloins. They were fabulous. This time, however, we were shocked. The portions were tiny, and tasteless. Very poor quality food. We learned the ownership had changed, and everything was different. It certainly was. We canceled our next reservation, and won't be returning. How sad. This place was an institution.
We had a wonderful time in Arrowrock then toped off the evening in the Tavern for dinner! Every one had a great dinner their!!
