The famous chicken dinner only had dark meat and no white meat. I was surprised and disappointed, but it tasted good. Vegetable beef soup was warm but not hot. When I called this to the waitresses attention, she said oh. There was no attempt to give me a hot bowl of soup and so I ate my soup lukewarm.
Nice little town with this being the main restaurant in town.We arrived on Saturday around 1:00pm. Charming restaurant and decor. The menu lists fried chicken as their featured dish along with other options as well.Staff is very friendly. The pre dinner rolls were a bit over baked and dry. I ordered the pork tenderloin meal and it was good as were the mashed potatoes and green beans. My wife ordered the feature dish of fried chicken. Unfortunately the chicken was overcooked and...
Definitely book a reservation in advanced!! Particularly if you are going on the nights of a show at the Lyceum- I think it can fill up fast. The Mac and Chicken was pretty good- pasta was ok and the chicken well seasoned. It is a beautifully maintained historic building with an interesting display harkening back to the days when the house was an old mercantile. Waitresses were friendly.
