Katy Trail Riders should avoid this place. It’s not for you.
It’s a brewery/wedding venue and they don’t even have a soda fountain there. You can’t get a Coke or a diet soda there. Just beer and brewery offerings.
My guess is they are trying to discourage the KT riders by deliberately not having any soft drinks or food that riders and their families might like.
The food is not very good, and like so many other “venues” it’s overpriced for what you get. Example: The nachos were just store bought nachos from a bag with salsa and cheese in a condiment cup. Wood fired pizza was okay but not great, and expensive.
The service is equally poor. Again, I think, a function of being a venue and not really caring about those that walk up from the trail. You’ll walk around looking for a while before you find someone to take your order, and when you do they’ll treat you like you’re bothering them.
I get that they’re a brewery/wedding venue first, but sitting right on the KT trail you’d think they’d want that business.
They don’t.
Pizza is pop. Sauce is perfect. Crust is jam. Service couldn’t have been better. Super satisfying and worth it
Great beer & pizza, fantastic family atmosphere and they have a variety of NA beer options!
Pizza is fairly expensive. 2 pizzas and a soda was $40.00. Pizza is ok, nothing to write home about. My main complaint is that it was freezing in there. This was 3rd week of November. Heaters were not turned on. All of the employees were in the kitchen huddled around the wood burning oven. Don't think we'll be going back. Sorry
My wife, Elvis our dog and myself went there yesterday. We took a nice walk on the Katy trail then came back and had a couple beers, dunklin, and a couple pizzas. The second pizza took forever. A kid finally brought it out, he said we were sitting in a dead spot, the pager didn't work where we were sitting. Huh. Worked the first time. No apology, nothing. Maybe this place should work on their service. We'll probably be back.
Nice stop along the Katy Trail. I prefer their Defiance location, but this one if a great way to get my Good News pizza fix while in Augusta.
Forget about going to a winery in the Augusta region! This brewery is a truly underdog brewery in St Louis region. Keep brewing Good News!
Nice venue, pizza and music; great day at the Augusta Wine and Jazz Festival.
Ordered a pretzel for an app, came out with our pizza. Which is more like personal size. Went to go pay with a Groupon we got as a gift & they decided last night” they wouldn’t accept those this weekend since it’s a holiday weekend. It’s basically a gift card, so I’m not sure what the problem was. All around, we won’t be back
Beer is good but food was below average, no flavor on the pizza. Buy the drinks and save on the food, just pack snacks for yourself if you bike there.

Really enjoy going to Good News. Decent sized menu. Good spot to stop and watch the Katy Trail from the patio. Good beer selection. Wide variety of beer. The pizza is very good. I wouldn't recommend this as a place to stop for a full meal per se, as the portions are a little small, but my husband and I love stopping here while walking or cycling on the Katy.
We love Good News Brewery in all of their locations! Good people, good brews, good pizza, good day for a good news pizza!
Any port in the Perfect Storm!
Great spot on the Katy Trail. Good beer and great pretzels. It has indoor and outdoor seating for whatever mood you’re in. Worth a stop in if you want to try some local beers.
Best beer in town!
