Tokyo Japanese Steak House & Sushi Bar

after moving to the area in december of last year, not having a ton of friends here, i’ve slowly become a regular here, and typically at other restaurants servers don’t care to pay much attention to one tops as the bill is small so they won’t make very much money off of the table, never ever treated that way here. it is genuinely the best restaurant in the area, my favorite server, CJ is always so welcoming and kind, she treats me like i would my own friends/family, the most attentive and knowledgeable server i’ve ever come across and as a server myself at The Other Place, Belton, I aspire to be as amazing as a server as she is and have definitely picked up some habits from her and applied it to my own work, not to mention the food is absolutely delicious every single time. i absolutely love coming here and showing friends/family the spot and taking very good care of my servers, as they take very good care of me:) thank you so much for the amazing experience every single time 🫰

As a first time customer I was very impressed by the quality and quantity of food. It was delicious.
The service was prompt and friendly. I had no idea there was a place in town with this good of food.

Tokyo is one of our family’s favorite restaurants. The friendliness and care of the staff is the most outstanding part of going there! We go once a month or so, and one server in particular remembers all our preferences and takes such good care of us. My husband enjoys the steak dinners and sushi variety. I’m vegetarian/vegan, and they have multiple tofu and veggie options including appetizers, miso soup, sushi rolls, noodle and rice dishes. Our kids enjoy the sushi and fried rice. The Belton Raymore area is lucky to have such a great place with good food. Thank you!

We were in the area from out of town. Grrat find. We did take out. The restaurant was packed. They were incredibly friendly and nice. Up front about the fact they were slammed. The wait was over 40 minutes for food. Dine in or take out. Well worth it. Everything we ordered was very good.

This place was amazing! Here for the Top Gun tournament and decided to try local options. Quiet, but wonderful service and great sushi and hibachi.

Their hours are horrible! Come up here and says on their door the hours but nope not open! Used to be good. Wouldn’t recommend

Now I’ll admit, me and my boyfriend came 20 minutes before close- that’s on us. But the service was just rude the second we came in. They told us we HAD to order Togo.
I’ve never been to a sit down restaurant where they tell you you cannot sit down- no MATTER what time it is. I’ve worked in the food industry my whole life, never once have I turned someone away because we closed in 20 minutes, not even 2 minutes!
So when we sat down to look at the menu the “server” stood 2 feet away from us eyeing us down and I’m sure to hurry our ordering up… wow.
Now the food… we went straight to the car and started eating because we were planning on eating inside. Whatever. The miso soup was cold, the shrimp tempura roll was bland (Hyvees is better and that..that’s sad). The fried rice was the best out of everything and that’s not a good thing either. We ordered pork fried rice, and it was chicken.
All I can say is… do better.

I will never stop recommending this place!!! Best sushi in the area and the best service too. No matter if there is only one customer in the building or they are packed the service is always top notch. My husband and I love sushi and this place is always our go to. I also personally believe this restaurant has the best chicken fried rice that exists. The portions are really great and the food is just amazing! Great cocktails too!!

It’s not even busy and we have been sitting here for an hour now waiting on our food. We only ordered 2 simple rolls and teriyaki chicken…We won’t be coming back.

My absolute FAVORITE!!! Our friend brought us here for the first time a few months ago and we were both hooked. The atmosphere is great. Love the decor and candles they have at the front desk. The staff are very kind, hard working and fast. The food is phenomenal, I always order the sweet potato rolls, fillet mignon habachi, with fried rice and hot strawberry puree sake. We always leave full, content and satisfied. This is our go to sushi place.You will definitely be back very soon. Thank you for such wonderful service and fantastic food.

The food was great but the atmosphere and lack of communication and enthusiasm from the cook wasn't as good as some of the other Japanese steakhouses.
