I was SOOOOOO disappointed in the taste of the food. I've NEVER had sweet macaroni and cheese before and it was horrible. The weird seasoning they use overwhelmed everything I had. The only thing that was good was the sweet potatoes. A wasted 50$.
Ordered uber eats today and very very good. Prolly best soul food place I liked

Mandela Soul Food Cafe is a must-visit destination for satisfying meals in St. Louis. Upon arrival, the mouth-watering aroma greets customers, making the 25-minute wait worthwhile. The restaurant serves delicious dishes, including pork steak and gravy, dressing, and Mac n cheese, all made with love. The family members who run this local African-American owned business are known for their great hospitality, ensuring customers feel comfortable during their meal, much like dining at a relative's house. Diners have enjoyed smothered pork chop, baked chicken, garlic mash, and candied yams, with the Mac n cheese noted for being different but still good, and the candied yams described as sweet as candy.
With generous portions and reasonable prices, many appreciate the ample servings, with some stating the food is enough for both lunch and dinner. However, there have been mentions of certain dishes not meeting expectations, such as the baked chicken being tough and the green beans lacking flavor. Overall, Mandela Soul Food Cafe continues to be a gem in St. Louis, offering a mix of great food and a welcoming atmosphere that keeps customers coming back for more, making it a 10/10 experience that warrants repeat visits.
